ONE  OWNER  FAMILY  VEHICLE

GUARANTEED  ONLY  38,044  MILES  AS  OF  TODAY!!!

I'VE KNOWN THIS TRUCK SINCE IT WAS NEW, AND HAVE BEEN FRIENDS WITH THE FAMILY SINCE THE 1960s.

HERE IS OUR STORY:

Remember back before there were gas stations on every corner, huge grocery stores and big-box home improvement stores?  Way-back-when -- there were small mom and pop General Merchandise stores that sold everything you needed; or they would order what you needed.  The original owner of this truck and his wife were the couple that ran the General Merchandise store that served our little community before all the big stores came in and took over.

The owner and his wife were loved by the community they supported.  They had an appartment above the store, and eventually built a small house behind the store.  If ever there was an emergency they were right there to help you and open the store.  They sold gas, butchered all the meat, served breakfast and lunch, sold clothes, hardware and building supplies of all kinds, feed, gardening supplies, etc.

The store was eventually closed after the couple passed away, and it was honered by the State of Georgia's House of Representatives and will always be recorded in history for what it meant to this little community.

Since the owner lived at the store, and had everything he needed he really didn't have to drive much to get anything.  We are about 7 miles from the state's farmer's market and he did drive up there to get supplies for the store and I'm sure other trips --  but all in all the truck was never really "used" like other trucks bought back in that time period...

Who am I?  I own the Auto Body Shop that was just 2 miles away from this store, and have a reputation for both fixing cars for insurance companies and performing restorations.  Many of the cars I've built have gone on to be sold at Barrett-Jackson, Mecum, Kruse International -- and into private collectons.  I've been in this area since 1962 and in my current shop since 1984.

The family brought me this truck 22 years ago and asked me to "do a real good paint job on it - but don't make it like one of your show cars -- just something I can afford to make it look better."

The truck only had a few small dents in it -- nothing major at all.  The truck only had ONE rust spot in it on the bottom of the right cowl panel and it was fixed with only a small amount of mig welding -- no patch panel at all.

We de-trimed the truck, stripped it to bare metal, metal-prepped it, primed, sealed and sprayed it with PPG's Enamel paint -- single stage.  Then it was buffed, polished and all of the original trim was reinstalled.

Just to clarify:

-- THE  TRUCK  HAS  ALL  OF  ITS  ORIGINAL  BODY PANELS

--- THE  TRUCK  HAS  ALL  OF  ITS  ORIGINAL  BODY  TRIM

---- THE  TRUCK  HAS  A  TITLE  WITH  THE  ORIGINAL  MILEAGE  STATED

-----  THE  TRUCK  HAS  NEVER  BEEN  WRECKED

------  THE  TRUCK  HAS  ONLY  BEEN  REPAINTED  ONCE

------  LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL MARKINGS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE HOOD AND HOW NICE THE ORIGINAL PAINT IS ON THE COWL -- TOO COOL!!!

PAINT:  Like I said, we painted it 22 years ago and it has been garage kept ever since, but the family has not treated it like a trailer queen -- they have used it a few times and it has collected a few scratches.  The pictures you see is exactly how it looked when the family brought it to me.  I have been doing some odds and ends to it so whoever ends up with it will get it looking a little nicer than what it does in the pictures.  BUT -- remember, we did not do a "show" quality paint job on it -- while it looks very-very nice, some of my lesser skilled employees did some of the work on it and it's great for a driver, even better than some "show" vehicles, but don't confuse this for one of my 15K paint jobs -- believe me -- I lost money on this paint job cause I did it for my friend.

Right now it just came from being in storage for a long time and it didn't run "just right" when the owner fired it up so they ended up changing the fuel pump and carb -- and yes, now the original parts are gone.  I've got the original plug wires as they were replaced with AC Delco, but the original plug wires are not any good.  I just drained the gas tank today and I will be working on getting it running correctly as the auction progresses.  Rest assured -- if you do not like this truck for any reason after checking it out in person there won't be any hard feelings.

The family is facing some financial obstacles and has asked me to sell it for them.  They also have the store for sale -- and trust me when I say if the store sells before the truck they will keep the truck!!!

Please look at all the pictures -- they should really tell the rest of the story.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU COME LOOK AT THE TRUCK IN PERSON -- IT IS JUST AN AMAZING FEELING OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOORS AND DRIVING IT -- YOU CAN DEFINATELY TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A REBUILT TRUCK AND THIS ONE THAT IS ORIGINAL!!!

PLEASE CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE IT:  JERRY  770-474-0074  10am - 8pm EST  7 days a week.

I would transport this truck most anywhere within the US for an additional fee as long as the truck and all shipping costs are paid for before the truck leaves my shop.

Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. It also, as Pattie says, seems like her boyfriend is more excited about the car than she (which, can we blame him?). Take a look down below for the full video of this C7 Stingray delivery.

Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]

Sun, 26 Jan 2014

If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.
