THIS IS THE PROJECT YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR. ITS COMPLETE BUT NEEDS SOME ONE TO FINISH. FAMILY EMERGENCY FORCES ME TO DO A FAST NO RESERVE NO MIN BID AUCTION READ ON AND I WILL DESCRIBE AS ACCURATLY AS POSSIBLE. I ENDED UP WITH THIS TRUCK ON A TRADE SO WILL TELL YOU WHAT I KNOW. IT MAY HAVE SOME ISSUES I AM UNAWARE OF AS I HAVE NEVER DRIVEN IT DOWN THE STREET, ONLY MOVED IT AROUND MY PROPERTY. I have a California title released from the previous owner. I do not have time to transfer it into my name but it is clear. I do not have time to ship this vehicle. you will have to come and pick it up. it is not drivable. so bring a trailer. it is for sale locally if I get a decent offer the auction will be ended
1980 chevy c10 short bed pick up truck with a big block 454 and turbo 350 automatic. c notched and lowered all the way around. ready for air ride.
THE BODY- pretty straight and rust free accept for the drivers side bed panel is dented. all glass is good. Bed has been cut for c notch, there is a hole in the floor as it was originally a 4 speed manual, (clutch pedal is still there) no rear bumper, gmc tail gate that I cant get open,
ENGINE- 454 year unknown, long tube headers, new mufflers (not hooked up) hei distributer edelbrock carb, compression test showed all cylinders within 10 percent of each other. I believe the carburetor needs a rebuild and the intake is not correct as we cant get it to run smooth. It needs a lot of little things fixed like water leaks, oil leaks, alternator brackets and belts.
TRANSMISSION- turbo 350 I have never driven this truck down the street, only moved it around the property, I do not know how well it operates.
SUSPENSION- rear end is believed to be original, frame has been c notched for air bags but is still on leafs with a flipped axel, front is on chopped springs and will need some attention, brakes are stock but seam to stop it ok
INTERIOR- stock seat with no tears, looks like it was re died but looks decent. dash has one crack, panels need some work as they have a poor die job on them, carpet is trashed, it has a hole in the floor for the original stick shift. (clutch pedal is still there.

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel arrives with 42 mpg for $25,695*
Thu, 07 Feb 2013The last time General Motors had a diesel passenger car in the US, it was the 1.8-liter 1986 Chevette. At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show today, GM is unveiling the much-anticipated 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel. The compact bows with a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine that boasts 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, with full twist coming on at just 2,000 rpm. What's more, the common-rail, direct-injection diesel features an overboost function that allows the engine to deliver up to 280 lb-ft of torque for 10 seconds at a time. Even with 10 more horsepower and 110 more pound-feet of torque than the available turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder in the Cruze, the 2.0-liter diesel engine can return up to 42 mpg (highway) bolted to its six-speed automatic transmission.
If you're counting, that figure meets the less powerful Cruze Eco with a six-speed manual transmission. More importantly, the auto transmission Cruze Diesel matches its main competition, the Volkswagen Jetta TDI, in highway fuel economy. The Cruze 2.0 TD (as it will be badged) can also handle up to 20 percent biodiesel (B20), whereas the Jetta is rated only for B5. General Motors has not released city fuel economy for its newest diesel, but we do know how much it will cost you to jump behind the driver's seat.
GM will kindly ask for $25,695, plus an $810 destination fee. That marks a $2,115 premium over a loaded Cruze LTZ Auto and $2,640 more than the Jetta TDI, though the MSRP will net you a leather interior, 17-inch alloy wheels and an Aero Performance Package, as well as a two-year maintenance plan and five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Compared to the gas-powered Cruze, you also lose a couple cubic feet of rear cargo space thanks to a 17-liter diesel emission fluid tank. That urea fluid, which helps put the clean in clean diesel, will need to be refilled at least every 10,000 miles.
