1979 C10 Patina, bagged, shop truck. Unique, patina’d 79 square body that has been daily driven
for the past few years (weather permitting).
Can drive this one anywhere and get plenty of attention. Very solid original truck 50,475 miles on the odometer. (Do not know if this is original miles or not) Originally built by RPM Hot Rods Custom faux patina painted by Jerome Borris 350 engine, T350 trans – runs smooth and fires up with 1 pump
of the pedal every time. Strong trans,
shifts smooth. Porterbuilt Drop-member with factory arms modified for air
bags Porterbuilt 4-link rear with stepped rear rails Front and rear bags, AVS switch box with Parker Valves. 7 switch AVS controller to raise & lower all
4 corners at once, front/rear separately, or 4 corner individually controlled Lays frame when dropped Low ride height, about 4” at the rockers, so it looks cool
driving not just when it is dumped when parked. Full steering travel lock to lock with out rubbing (custom
inner fenders raised and widened for clearance) Custom billet “steelies” 20’s and 22’s with original center
caps. Nitto tires Custom sheet metal bed floor and wheel tubs bead rolled and
bedlined. Tie downs in the bed for your bike, bobber, or just hauling gear. Pockets in back to hold army style gas cans Actual gas tank mounted below the bed. Filled through chrome cap in bed floor. Fuel gauge works and is accurate. Interior is nice and fairly clean. The rug and carpet on the lower doors could
probably use replacing or a good shampooing, but it fits the character of the
truck as is so I never changed it. Can
be purchased new from LMC or Brother’s truck for a hundred bucks. (Wet spot on the driver floor from wet shoes in
pictures. There are no stains or
discoloration in the carpet.) New seat
foam and cover. Cover has a weathered
look that again goes perfectly with the truck.
Air gauge put into the lower left of the factory gauge cluster. Everything works except the speedo. Cable needs to be replaced, I never got around
to doing it. GPS App on my iPhone was
free and worked good enough! Otherwise the
truck is mechanically and electrically sound. New Alpine stereo installed this summer ($1,500 in parts) . Alpine top of the line head unit with Blue
Tooth, hands free phone, ipod, CD, etc… Amps
mounted below the seat. Two 5.5” Alpine speakers
in the door and two alpine 6x9’s in the rear cab corners. Rockford Fosgate P3 sub behind the seat. A lot of stereo for a small cab, but it
sounds bitchen. This is a bad ass truck that I hate to sell, but have a baby
on the way and a few other projects. Not
interested in trades or low ball offers.
Do not bid if you do not plan to pay for it. Clean, clear title in my name and ready to be
signed over to you! Located in Mundelein, IL (Northern suburb of Chicago). Truck is available to inspect by appointment. |

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in
Sat, 15 Jun 2013You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.
