"S L E E K A N D L O W"
The engine is a rebuilt V-8 350 ci with a mild cam, but if you lean into it, it doesn't feel like it's mild, runs like a scalded dog or a cat that just got it's tail stepped on. Running on rails. Edelbrock four barrel carb, Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock Chrome valve covers. The rebuilt motor doesn't have more than 2000 miles on it.
This is a real head turner, any time I take it out people have to ask about it.This is great because you have to be proud of the work that went into getting her to this point in her life.
Here is a list of what has been done.
Left and right rocker panels replaced.
Left and right inner rocker panels replaced.
Transition panel to floor pans on both sides replaced. Floor pan areas welded in new sheetmetal.
Outer cab corner on the passenger side replaced.
Inner door skin replaced.
Shaved the side marker lights.
The bed was covered with a bedliner so as a result the bed was removed and replaced with new wood 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint and steel deck strips.
All sheetmetal parts came from LMC trucks.
Rebuilt 350 ci V-8 engine Mild Cam, motor has less than 2000 miles on it.
Hooker Headers.
Four barrel Edelbrock carburator and filter.
Edelbrock manifold.
Edelbrock chrome valve covers.
New fuel pump.
Drive train Transmission rebuilt.
New carrier bearing.
Front of truck lowered 3"
Rear of truck lowered 5"
Billet Specialties aluminum wheel 17" 5 by 5 lug pattern. (one cap is missing but I might have it by the time the truck is sold)
Hankook Ventus ST wide track skins, 255/50 R 17's all the way around. The right rear tire probably should be replaced.
New exhaust system with mufflers an chrome tail pieces.
New battery.
The interior is new from LMC trucks. Before the new carpet was layed we installed a 1/8" thick sound deadening material with a vapor barrier.
New bench seat vinyl.
New carpet.
New side door panels.
New arm rests.
New dash pad.
New side view mirrors.
The windows crank as they should. The window rubber needs to be replaced. The windshield has a ding high on the window out of direct vision and on the passenger side there is a 5" run that has not moved since I owned the truck. There is a higher torque starter installed for the clearance on the header, it has a shreaking sound, but starts fine.
The tail gate is one I bought from a Chevy yard upstate and had it shipped. I told him to send me the best one he had "oh, no problem, yes sir, sure will" well this is what I got for $200.00, should have bought a new one from LMC and be done with it ! So we put it on and so be it. I would opt to just get an new one and forget about trying to make this one look better. Oh well, it is on and ALL the hardware is there and it works. But hey, you can't beat where it is from," Top-Notch Auto Sales", MESQUITE, TEXAS, I can smell the Bar-B-Q now !

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra debut all-new designs, three new engines
Thu, 13 Dec 2012General Motors has finally dropped the curtain on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. Both trucks have undergone substantial revisions with updated versions of the company's 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 engines. In a shot across the bows of both Ford and Chrysler, GM says it won't use a V6 engine adapted from passenger car applications. Instead, it developed the 4.3-liter engine based on its proven truck-duty architecture.
All three mills will boast direct injection fuel systems as well as a new cylinder head design. Combined with a revised piston, the new engines feature a smaller combustion chamber with a compression ratio of 11:1 or higher depending on the application. Cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing are all part of the recipe, and each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with auto grade breaking. So far, no fuel economy or horsepower figures have been released, though GM says the new engines will best their predecessors in both areas.
Outside, the trucks feature a number of enhancements to reduce drag and wind noise, and GM claims both the Silverado and Sierra will offer buyers some of the quietest cabins in the class. Extended cab models now feature front-hinged rear doors to allow easier access to the back passenger area, and Crew Cab buyers can now select between a five-foot, eight-inch bed or a six-foot, six-inch bed. Buyers with a mind toward going off road will also rejoice in the return of the Z71 package, complete with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and additional under-body protection.
Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump
Mon, 11 Feb 2013To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):
