Up for sale is my 1969 Chevrolet CST/10 truck with factory air conditioning and factory 396 big block "El Camino SS" motor. Green and white with original paint. Original green interior. Original engine and transmission with no modifications or rebuilds. Exhaust was replaced 4 years ago with an OEM type system. You'd be hard pressed to find a more original example. Minor rust on the passenger side kick panel and lower portion of the driver's door which should be easily repairable.  Missing some trim on bed and one hub cap. 107,566 original miles. Truck starts well and runs great! Plenty of power and great oil pressure.  You'll be hard pressed to find a more original example.

**I wanted to add a little history for those of you that might be interested...**

My great-uncle bought this truck new in 1969 and kept it stored in a barn at our family farm most of its life.  I have a fairly good idea of the history of this truck, so when I say it's all original and unmolested, that's an honest statement.  I inherited the truck several years ago and have enjoyed it immensely, but it's time to send it on to a new home.  Between kids, activities and other projects, I really need the space and feel the truck should be in the hands of someone who will enjoy it and give it some TLC.

The factory big block 396 is evidently a fairly uncommon option and really pushes the book value up on this truck (according to the NADA guide).  There are a few dents and dings in addition to the missing trim, hubcap and minor rust I mentioned.  Everything else appears to be as expected for a 43-44 year old vehicle with the original paint and interior..  No frame rust that I can tell and the floorboards are fine.  The transmission shifts without any hesitation or noise.

Feel free to email with any questions or if you need further information.

Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]

Sun, 26 Jan 2014

If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
