I have too many projects, so I am trying to downsize.  This is a rare truck with a lot of potential.  I don't have enough time for multiple projects, so I am selling a few.  More will be listed soon.

This auction is for a 1967 Chevrolet C10 short bed (clear title).  It is a rescued barn find that has been cleaned up.  A frame-off restoration has been started.  Also included is a 1969 Chevrolet C10 long bed (clear title).  I also have a 1992 GMC Sierra SLX short bed step side that I am including (title signed in wrong place - easy to remedy if necessary).

The 1967 Chevrolet C10 is a one year only cab (small back glass).  The fenders are also unique in 1967.  It will be a nice looking truck when done.  I was in the process of restoring this truck for my wife.  It was going to be pink (bright metallic pink).  A frame-off restoration was started and not completed.  It is a very solid truck for the age.  A lot of the hard work is done.  The frame is undercoated.  The inner fenders are undercoated.  Part of the cab is undercoated.  The bed needs undercoated.  Minor rust repair needs to be done before the rest of the cab and the bed can be undercoated.  The firewall and inner fenders are painted pink.  The radiator support is painted black.  The inner fenders and radiator support were removed from the 1969 Chevrolet C10 parts truck (were very nice).  The fenders are nice and would take minimal work to prepare for paint.  The cab is in decent shape.  The cab corners needed to be replaced.  Someone tried to build a cab corner for the passenger side...I would recommend using the cab corners from the 1969 C10 (need minor rust repairs) or ordering new cab corners.  Both rocker panels were replaced.  The floor is solid but needs a couple of small patches.  The floor supports were rusty.  Both supports on the passenger side are replaced.  Both supports on the driver side should be replaced.  I have the rear support but can't find the front support.  I will look for the other support and will include it if I find it.  I have new bolts to bolt the cab down.  The bed is solid but will need a few small patches.  There are also a couple of small holes in the bed floor to repair.  The body is assembled but not all bolted together.  Everything will need to be adjusted and bolted together better.  The bed is not attached (just sitting on the frame), so it will be easy to remove and repair.  It was loosely assembled for transport.  There is a lot of potential here.

The truck has been lowered.  The front springs are attached.  The rear springs are sitting in the proper place but not attached.  The parts truck should have the necessary parts.  I have a few new bolts to include.  The front shocks are new.  I would swap the rear shocks with the parts truck (they are not very old).  The truck will have a nice stance after the drivetrain is installed.  The tires are new...and the polished aluminum wheels are almost new (look really nice)...bolted on with new lug nuts.  It has the big-n-little treatment (taller and wider in the rear - shorter and narrower in the front).  31x10.50x15 in the rear and 215x65x15 in the front mounted on 15x8 wheels.

The intention was to paint the truck bright metallic pink with black stripes.  I have the pink paint and will include it.  I was going to use the steel bumper from the 1969 C10 on the front and a steel roll pan in the rear (new one included).  It had a nice rear bumper with a receiver hitch, but that was removed.  It is included just in case you prefer to use it.  I also have a really nice front bumper and new brackets if you prefer chrome bumpers.  The front bumper that was removed was a little rough but would make a nice core to have rechromed.  I was going to change the doors (the doors from the 1969 C10 are really nice).  The interior was going to be pink and black as well.  I was going to replace the carpet and dye the seat (which is really nice for the age).  I was considering using the step side bed from the 1992 GMC.  It is in great shape other than one bed side (rear bumper damaged it).  I have a nice replacement bedside though (easy to change).  The tailgate is pretty nice...the floor is solid and straight...nice bed.  I have a plastic roll pan that I can include (used but needs a little work).  The 1967 C10 would look nice with a step side bed (I have seen it done many times).  I was told that the 1992 GMC could be used as a donor so the 1967 C10 could be converted to 5-lug wheels.  It is currently a 6-lug truck (built that way when new).

I also have an engine and transmission to include.  The engine is a freshly built 350 that was driven a handful of miles in another toy before being removed and painted a different color so it could be used in the 1967 C10.  The intake and valve covers were changed at that time.  It has an aluminum 4-barrel Edelbrock Performer intake and aluminum Edelbrock valve covers.  Edelbrock intake gaskets were used on the intake.  Molded rubber reusable gaskets were used on the valve covers.  It has a chrome fuel pump block-off plate so an electric pump can be used.  I don't have a fuel pump for it.  I also don't have headers (I may have a set of cast exhaust manifolds but will have to look).  I have an Edelbrock 650 carburetor and Edelbrock air cleaner to include.  All brackets, pulleys, and accessories are included.  The transmission is a freshly built Turbo 350 that was built for a 1970 Chevelle and was bolted to an engine only for mock-up (no miles).  It is supposed to have a mild stall converter.  The 1967 C10 has a 12-bolt rear end.  It previously had a 396 engine and a turbo 400 transmission.

I am including the original owners manual and supplemental materials in the original bag (for the 1967 Chevrolet C10).  The last picture shows the 1967 C10 prior to being disassembled.  A little work and some paint will make this a sweet ride.

These trucks are also for sale locally...so I reserve the right to end the auction early.  I will add a buy-it-now price if necessary.  I prefer to sell everything as a whole package, but I may be willing to split things up.  This auction is for everything.

Basically everything you would need is included.  I am sure there are a few little things you will need, but the majority is here.  I am including many extra parts for 1967-72 Chevrolet trucks.  A lot of the hard work is done.  It needs to be finished and enjoyed.

I will be happy to show you the trucks if you would like to give them a personal inspection.  Also feel free to contact me with questions.

I am willing to deliver everything for a small fee...but I prefer to have the new owner pick up.  I will help you load if you need help.  Contact me with questions.

Thanks and Happy Bidding.

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.

Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war

Sun, 30 Dec 2012

A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
