1960 Chevy 4 X 4 Panel Truck

Clear Title and presently Registered.
I have owned this truck for 10 years and was planning to bring it back to all it's glory. A health situation has set me and my projects back a couple years and now this one needs to go to someone with the time to do it right.
The body is sitting on a Blazer Frame and Drive Train.
Engine is 400 Small Block that runs  good. Some very light start up smoke  if it sits a bit. Probably valve seals ( I was going to do them when I had the nose off).
Front Disc Brakes
Brake line is broken so you cannot drive it home unless you want to patch it temporarily. I am including a complete InLine factory bent Stainless Steel Brake line Kit with the other new parts I have purchased towards the rebuild.
Side Door Handles have been shaved  and door poppers installed but will need to be adjusted and rewired on rebuild.
Wire harness is from newer Chevy van and everything works but accessories like radio and interior "Mood" lighting and door poppers should be rewired.
Springs and bushings should be done. High or Low, Your Choice.
Needs one Window Regulator. (Drivers)
Frame is peeling  from old  paint used by previous owner and has some scaling but  SOLID FRAME!   Just time to clean it up right.
May need  some metal work on drivers metal  below floor boards. (All 1960 Chevy Pick Up Parts Fit)
I have Most Major Body Panels  but some stitching in will be needed on the Hood, rear corners of the body and a Couple  small spots in the interior above windshield. May need some windshield lip repair. ( I did not pull glass yet)
Windshield does have 4 rock chips but I was always able to get a sticker and they have not traveled in 10 years of summer and winter running.
Lower inner door panels may make the door repairs easier but I did not buy those yet.

Here are some of the new parts I will include:
New Side window and vent window for Passenger Side ( I already installed  Drivers side)
New in box, Complete Stainless Steel Factory Bent Brake  Line Kit by InLine   http://www.inlinetube.com/
New Never mounted Stainless Steel Headers  and all Gaskets and collector Parts
New Clutch with low miles  since installed
New 31 x 15 Uniroyal Tires with low miles  since installed
New Body Panels:
Drivers Door Skin
Passenger Door Lower Door Skin
Front Lower Bed Section ( for the area behind Passenger Door to Rear Wheel Well)
Cab Floor Outer Section ( To repair only major Floor area)
Front Fender Lower Rear Section.
Some  Gaskets:
Rear Window Gaskets
Rear Tail Light Gaskets
Kick Panel Air Vent Door Gaskets

I will include all Receipts for what I have done so far and some original correspondence I have from the original owner.

I have tried to hit all the faults I can think of to represent this truck as accurately as possible.
I will answer all questions so  Ask First before you Bid. Serious Buyers only Please.
Mechanical updating will be straight ahead but if you do not have the resources for the body work then this one may not be the one for you unless you are going the Rat Route.
Lots of potential here! I really did not want to let it go. Thanks for Looking and Good luck Bidding!
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY, AS THIS VEHICLE IS FOR SALE LOCALLY.
SHIPPING arrangements are the sole responsibility of the BUYER. I will be glad to meet your shipper and assist loading.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra debut all-new designs, three new engines

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

General Motors has finally dropped the curtain on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. Both trucks have undergone substantial revisions with updated versions of the company's 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 engines. In a shot across the bows of both Ford and Chrysler, GM says it won't use a V6 engine adapted from passenger car applications. Instead, it developed the 4.3-liter engine based on its proven truck-duty architecture.
All three mills will boast direct injection fuel systems as well as a new cylinder head design. Combined with a revised piston, the new engines feature a smaller combustion chamber with a compression ratio of 11:1 or higher depending on the application. Cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing are all part of the recipe, and each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with auto grade breaking. So far, no fuel economy or horsepower figures have been released, though GM says the new engines will best their predecessors in both areas.
Outside, the trucks feature a number of enhancements to reduce drag and wind noise, and GM claims both the Silverado and Sierra will offer buyers some of the quietest cabins in the class. Extended cab models now feature front-hinged rear doors to allow easier access to the back passenger area, and Crew Cab buyers can now select between a five-foot, eight-inch bed or a six-foot, six-inch bed. Buyers with a mind toward going off road will also rejoice in the return of the Z71 package, complete with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and additional under-body protection.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
