Listed for auction is my  2 door 1991 Chevy S-10 Blazer Sport 4X4 that I have owned since 1991. I am the second owner having purchased it in the summer of 1991. The 4.3 litre 6 cylinder has plenty of power while still getting good gas mileage (about 20-25 mpg on highway).  This vehicle has never been smoked in. About the only major repairs I have had to make to it are a water pump, starter, and air conditioning compressor all in 2001. The air was not changed over and now needs recharged. This Blazer has been very reliable for me and has been through many winters with no problems.  I have kept up on the maintenance over the years (oil changes and service every 3,000 miles). It was also detailed twice every year.  One time I had to have some work done on the speedometer. The dealership had to keep it overnight and the next day a representative of MVA had to be there to oversee the procedure and verify the mileage. I have not used it very much over the past 6-7 years and it has been sitting most of that time. This is my reason for selling. Originally it had an electrical problem which drained the battery and it turned out to be a loose computer panel. The battery will need replaced. My mechanic had it started with a charger ("hot box") a few times. My mechanic has also determined that it will need a fuel pump. The brake light stays on. We have not tried to see what the problem is there.  The interior of the Blazer is in very good condition for the age. The cloth seats have a corduroy like material on them and there are no stains or tears in them. The carpet is also in very good condition and it still has the original floor mats. The dash does not have any weathering cracks in it.  I already described the mechanics of it in description above. The exterior is in need of a little TLC. The pictures show the bubbling rust and in a couple of places there are some small holes. The clear coat has worn off the top surfaces and the paint has faded. My mechanic checked the underside and said the frame and floor pans are in good condition. The rear hatch glass will only open partially, a problem with the hydraulics. The side rear windows will slide open to let air into the cargo compartment. Some of the rubber molding around them needs to be glued back. The spare tire unit in the back works well and has the original tire and the cover. All window glass and light lenses are in good condition with no damages. The tires have decent tread but are beginning to show some minor dry rot.  Other than a collision with a deer just after I purchased it and the damaged was very minor, this vehicle has never been in an accident since I have owned it. I also have the owners manual and other manuals.  Considering the good mechanics and the very good interior and low mileage (under 81,000), I believe this vehicle is a good candidate for restoration. This Blazer is being sold "as-is where is" with no warranty written or implied. Some of the pictures were taken at my house and the rest at my mechanics shop lot. The vehicle is currently there and will be picked up there with either a flat bed truck or vehicle pulling a tandem trailer. I have sold other vehicles on EBay and am quite familiar  with all the scam attempts so please do not try or bid will be cancelled. The only method of payment I want is a $200 deposit to Paypal account first and the balance in cash at time vehicle is picked up. Will give signed title only when cash is in my hand.  Please no personal checks, cashiers checks , or credit cards. Feel free to email me with any questions except to inquire about the reserve price, I am not going to give it out. Vehicle must be picked up within 14 days of close of auction. Thanks for viewing my auction and good luck bidding.

Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
