Up for Bid is a wonderful 1987 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4X4 Silverado. This vehicle is from Idaho's high desert area. It has it's Original Paint and is a No Rust ever Survivor. That means you can remove it's fastener's (nut's and bolt's) for the most part with your finger's. You will be searching for a long time to find a nicer Blazer than this. Equipped with the GM 5.7 fuel injected small block Chevrolet V-8 and 700R4 automatic transmission, it is the most economical and reliable of Chevrolet's K5 4X4. This is a Silverado, so it's the top of the line. Equipped with power steering, power brakes, air conditioning (converted to R134 and blow's cold), tilt wheel, cruise control, power window's, power door lock's, AM/FM Cassette, delayed wiper's, power rear window, tinted glass and more. It's all serviced and ready to go. With winter coming and hunting season in full swing it's the perfect time to get a 4X4. This should be a good investment if history repeat's itself, from the metal door handles to quality stainless steel and chrome trim, the Silverado was General Motor's at it's finest. The door's shut like a vault and it's not a plastic wonder inside. All the accessories operate and it drive's wonderful. Idaho law say's it has to be sold as mileage exempt. Clear title in my name. Vehicle is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction early.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
