Up for Auction is this 1984 Chevrolet 6.2L Diesel Blazer Sport Utility. Rebuilt 700r4, Turn Key Start.
New Belts. Great gas mileage, around 24mpg. The vehicle has been finished inside, out and under. The Chassis has been lined with commercial grade sealer (not spray paint) to prevent rust and aging. There was little to no rust on the chassis prior to coating, this is not a cheap cover up, it is preventive measure to keep this rig lasting.
On the inside, the aged and stinky carpet was removed and the mild rust that housed under the carpet was sanded off and treated. After the interior was down to shiny metal it was sprayed with Raptor Liner. It has racing seats in the front in New condition, no cigarette burns or holes in any seats, both the front seats fold forward to let people in the back easy.
The Rear Bench is New, from a 2007 Suburban and is fully removable with ease. Behind the bench is a new O-ring for taking your favorite K-9 for a ride and a secured section or removable rubber lined carpet to make sure the dog isn't sliding.
This Blazer has been made kid friendly, with all the sharp edged wrist cutting metal brackets removed. It doesn't have any strange smells or mold, smells new as it should.
The truck drives great, the steering is tight. This 6.2L Diesel doesn't knock, is very responsive and powerful despite what some say. It has a tow hitch and other tow accessories.
It has a 6" lift and 35x12.5x15's with 70% tread. The gears are 3.43 and it purrs on the highway. A great rig for towing or daily pavement pounding.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. For more on the what to expect out of GM's new SUVs, click on the C/D link below.
This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.
Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
