1961 Chevrolet Biscayne 4dr Post on 2040-cars

1961 Chevy Biscayne

235/Powerglide combo
Manual steering and brakes
Sits on 78 Camaro wheels with new rubber
RUNS STRONG, DRIVES GREAT, STOPS WELL

I bought this car from a guy sight unseen with the promise of it being a rust free runner that belonged to some old farmer. I found out he is a liar!!! When the car arrived. It did not run and was hit in the quarter.
My friend put another carb on the car and did some tuning and it now runs and shifts great. Starts everytime

I'm not a shyster so lets be upfront... It needs door panels, partial trunk pan, drivers quarter, rear and front passenger floor pans, turn signal wiring harness, package tray, and exhaust from front to back. Ask questions, I don't want to rip anyone off.

There is no rot on outer body or frame. Bumpers are clean (except for that corner where it was hit, but it's a 3 piece bumper).

It still has the lower valances under the bumpers which is a rarity with these old Chevies. It is not a bubble top, but the flat roof.
It's a 4dr post, all glass is good.
No radio, has a delete plate.
I want this car, I like this car (despite all its imperfections), however in my busy life I can't give it the time.

The Biscayne was the poor man's Impala or Bel Air, but still one of the coolest cars of the 1960s

Buyer is responsible for arranging pick-up/transporting of car.

*There is a $500.00 NON REFUNDABLE deposit due immediately. Remaining balance due within 24 hrs of auction end. Non payment after this specified time period (24 hours), will result in sale being cancelled and car relisted.

*DO NOT BID IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY.

The car is 53 years old, so its sold as is where is. Take a look and you be the judge. I have been as honest as possible in describing the car. Please ask questions.

Thanks for looking

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....

Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
