Selling my 57 Belair. This is a great little cruiser with 350 engine, automatic 350 transmission, nice headers and dual exhaust, detailed engine with 650 Holley carb. Car has Power steering and Power disc-brakes. One-pc California frame is solid as a rock, nice sounding engine with small cam, runs cool and leak-free. Has Lokar floor shifter and Lecarra steering wheel, SW gauges, all lights work, electric wipers, nice stainless steel and chrome. Some light pitting on rear bumper center section only--very minor. one corner of hood had some bubbling so that has been repaired and is in primer at this time. Has one small hole in rear center brace but otherwise very solid--minor fix. Car has coil-over adjustable shocks on the front and rear sway-bar for extremely nice handling. Interior is nice and headliner is tight and rip free. Weld wheels and very good rubber. Has 10-bolt rear end which I believe is a 3:23 gear--non-posi. Car is a blast to drive and turns heads wherever I go. This is not a "Barrett Jackson" car but is a great example of a TRUE Belair--not a fake. Carpeting is in good shape--new in trunk. Nice sound system. For questions, please text or call me @ 850-932-4663 and I'll answer you as quick as I can. I can send a Video to any interested parties. Thanks for looking and Good Luck! GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups
Mon, 14 Oct 2013General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.
