Super-nice hot rod 1957 Chevy Bel Air 2-door post coupe featuring a 5-year old interior and exterior restoration, still looking excellent.
Very straight body wearing a nice black paint job, really nice stainless, chrome, and gold Bel Air trim, good glass and associated weather stripping, etc. Exterior overall looks exceptional.
Interior is also fantastic in two-tone original reproduction Turquoise vinyl and cloth; perfect original headliner, new package tray, seat covers, door panels, etc. Original gauges plus an under-dash three gauge compliment, and column-mounted tachometer. Pictures show a missing kick panel; it is present and now back on.
Freshly built high-performance 355 ( 350 + .030") 4-bolt mains engine including Keith Black 9.5:1 pistons, Crane cam (.488 lift/234 duration), line bored and honed, balanced bottom end including H-beam rods and steel crank, new bearings, rings, HV oil pump, double-roller timing set, etc. Corvette iron 2.02 / 1.60 heads with matching Crane valve springs and accessories, roller rockers, big pushrods. ARP fasteners throughout. Edelbrock Air Gap intake, Holley 4-barrel, Mallory Unilite ignition, huge wires, new 8" balancer, more. Dyno'd at 385 HP @ 5,500 RPM. Great reliable, powerful, and street-able engine. Great cam lope at idle, good vacuum, great power band. A really good street engine.
New dual exhaust system from front to back.
Big aluminum 4-row radiator and electric fan keeps it cool and reliable.
Rebuilt Muncie 4-speed transmission, new clutch, pressure plate, flywheel. 10-bolt rear end with 3.50 gears for a nice balance of performance and freeway comfort.
Manual steering with power brakes. Torq Thrust wheels with new BFG Radial T/A tires.
While not a "Perfect 10," she's a gorgeous car that turns heads every time. No rust issues. A blast to drive, reliable, fun, and nostalgic. I've had a few Tri-5's, and love this one as much as any.
No rust issues, no issues at all to speak of. Turn-key solid car.

Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut
Thu, 07 Mar 2013We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.
Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
2015 Chevrolet Cruze spied on its home turf
Tue, 23 Apr 2013The next Chevrolet Cruze isn't set to go into production for about another year, and we're just now seeing prototypes of the new compact running around here in the States. Not much more has been revealed since we saw the car blasting through the snow in Europe, but we can still clearly see new design elements like the larger grille, slimmer headlamps and redesigned taillamps.
Our spy photographers worked up a composite image of this Cruze prototype alongside the current model, and here, we can clearly see some big visual changes are in store for the new model. The 2015 Cruze's hood slopes downward more dramatically, the windshield is more heavily raked, and the roofline looks more fluid overall. The next-generation Cruze will ride on the new global Delta platform that will also underpin other General Motors vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Equinox.
As for what's under the hood, we expect the normal range of gasoline four-cylinder engines (both naturally aspirated and turbocharged), and the compact's new turbodiesel four should carry over, as well. Have a look at the full brace of spy photos in the gallery above.
