Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : isabelleippowell@lakelouise.net .I have a 1957 Chevrolet 2 Door Hardtop I am a car dealer but this is my personal car. Texas Title is in my name
and not my dealerships name. It is on a 5 year classic registration in Texas.
There are hundreds of things I can put on here and hundreds of questions you will have. So I am going to just list
what shape the car is and a few things about it. It will be accurately described.
1. 1957 Chevrolet 2 Door Hardtop
2. Exterior is what I call a 20 footer. It is a very good 20 footer. It is a great "driver condition" car.
3. All Chrome and stainless are there and in very nice shape. There are a few little nicks here and there but
nothing major at all.
4. The car was restored in the late 70's or early 80's and is still in nice shape.
5. Interior is in very nice shape. Seats are good and original. Carpet is very nice. Dash is nice. All windows
work like they are suppose to. The small locks on the windows still work. The chrome piece that flips up and down
above the doors works great. All lights and blinkers work including interior dome light. Speedometer and
temperature dash lights do not work. Bulbs are out and I have had time to change them. Horn does not work. It
does have the original 18" steering wheel.
6. Engine is a 1965 corvette 327/350HP solid lifter engine that runs very strong. I put a brand new Edelbrock 600
carb on it Friday September 4th. It runs perfect.
7. Transmission is a 3-speed automatic. It is not a power-glide. It could be a turbo-glide but I am not
positive. You can see the transmission letters on the steering column. There is a D, L2 and L1, It has a small
pan gasket leak on the transmission. Not a big deal.
8. It does not have power steering nor power brakes. NO A/C.
9. It has NO rust issues. Trunk, rockers, quarters are all solid. You can tell all of that was fixed years ago.
10. I have driven this car over 300 miles the last 2 weekends to car shows. It has performed flawlessly.
THIS IS A DIVORCE SALE but will not be given away.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
