You are bidding on a rare numbers matching 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. This is a project car but has had a huge start in the frame-off process. As you can see from the pictures, the body sheet metal is all new. New quarters, doors, fenders, deck lid, hood, floor pans, etc. Virtually, every piece of metal on the car is new and has been put back together. The frame was sandblasted and powder coated and the underneath of the car done in epoxy primer. The original numbers matching 283 v8 engine has been professionally rebuilt to factory specifications and is ready to be reinstalled. The car will need some finishing work on the body but almost ready to paint. All of the parts are present except the original 2 speed power glide transmission which is missing. I can get my hands on one for 350.00. Extensive work has been done to this car. I have 99% of the parts to be complete. I have the complete interior but it needs to be redone. I have all of the stainless except for one small piece on the quarter panel. The rest of the parts are there. I also have a lot of new parts that go with the car. The top frame is new, as is the suspension. The rear end has been cleaned and checked thoroughly, and the suspension is new. I have spent over 35,000 dollars on this car so far. I have too many projects and have to cut loose of some of them. If you have any questions about the car, please call me. Rob. 540-580-8550

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible is the track car for sun worshippers
Fri, 11 Apr 2014
Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?
Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette
Thu, 14 Feb 2013When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.
