1956 Chevrolet 2 Door Pro Street, Street Rod on 2040-cars
Rochester, New York, United States
1956 Custom Chevy 2 Door Post MUST SELL! Serious Inquiry's Only Featured in the 1992 Super Chevy Magazine which I have a copy of and will it will come with the car. I purchased this 1956 Chevy in 2003 at the Goodguys Nationals in Indiana. The car builder was from Kentucky and did all of the work himself. I have done some pully, carb and vintage air upgrades only. I believe I am the 3rd owner. The car is fully tubbed and channeled over the frame. the roof line sits low and the body panels on the car are extremely straight. It has a custom interior, rugs, headliner and roll padded bar. Strong attention to detail has been taken to coordinate the cars color scheme including the custom Chevrolet stitching on the bucket seats. It has no rear seats because of the rear tubs however with a little creativity I’m quite sure something could be made. It just wasn’t in my best interest and I wanted to leave the interior untouched as it is in the magazine. It has no front bumper but it has a custom fiberglass front air dam/spoiler. The car was on the road last in 2010 and prior for about 3 years. I am not quite sure of the millage on the motor as it never had a speedometer. It only came with a tachometer. I was planning on putting in a new gauge cluster but never got that far. I drove it for a few years, which was all of about 3000 miles to and from car shows. I am estimating the car has 9000 miles on the motor. The car will need all new instrument gauges as I never replaced them. I started to put Vintage Air on it and stopped right after I installed the under dash unit. I have all the parts both electrical and mechanical to complete the installation. It is an attention getter and a true show car winner and I have taken a few with it. Car is sold as is. I will not modify and or subtract anything from the vehicle! 350 Small Block Chevy (not sure of engine specs, I didn’t build it) But it runs tight and strong with a nice lope at idle! Pushing Back: GM expanding Chevrolet into Korea, Daewoo out
Thu, 29 Apr 2010Chevrolet Camaro goes to South Korea - Click above for high-res image
General Motors decided several years ago to begin heavily promoting Chevrolet as its global mainstream brand even in markets where its existing brands like Opel and Daewoo were a dominant force. Today, at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, GM Daewoo president Mike Arcamone announced that the Camaro would lead the way in GM's efforts to market Chevrolet in South Korea.
For now at least Chevrolet and Daewoo-branded vehicles will coexist in the Korean market. However, while we were in China last week GM officials told us that the Daewoo brand, which has been somewhat tainted by past quality issues, would eventually be phased out in favor of Chevrolet. When the new Aveo launches next year it will likely be badged as a Chevrolet even though GM Daewoo is in charge of engineering the car.
GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web
Mon, 15 Apr 2013The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom. To see the full order guide, head on over to CorvetteBlogger. From what we can gather, it sounds like more information will be revealed on April 25 during a party at the Corvette Museum, and for those sun worshipers patiently waiting for a convertible, it would appear you've got another model year to wait through.
