I am listing this 1956 chevrolet 2 door belair for my neighbor who has in receipts a total of over $70,000, which will will be included with the car. He purchased the car about 3-4 years ago at a local car show, and paid $23,500.00 for it then, and was a pretty nice car needing some things here and there, then proceeded to put an additional $46,500.00 into it!!

The paint was done last year, and a small spot shown on lower pass rocker has a spot of rust missed. It is very minor, but want to be honest. The car has less than 50 miles since it was rebuilt.
The engine is a new crate engine by smeding out of Texas. It is a 383 strokes touring model, and has a great sound to it. Factory rated at 360 hp, and this one was run on the Dyno at 383 hp. Turbo 350, block hugger headers, full exhaust, a/c, new power steering box, disc brakes, 15x8 torq thrust wheels with 255x60 in back, and 15x6 up front on 205x65's. not sure of rear end gearing, but seems like a 4:11. New shocks, and coils up front. Aluminum radiator, and filled firewall for clean hot rod look. Battery moved to trunk.
The interior is all new, from door panels, seat covers, headliner, carpet, ect!! The steering wheel is the repro of the original in a 15, and also a tilt column. The fuel gauge, and temp gauge are original and work, as does the oil light, horn, lights and signals, redone with a new harness. The doors shut nice and tight with a whoosh like from the factory. The floors were done using Dyno mat for heat and sound. The radio works, as does the clock.
This is just a nice car ready to take to the shows, or drive to. Cruise night with the right color combination. After finishing the car, he just lost interest. The reserve on this car will be under $30,000, so someone will get a great deal!! Or hit the buy it now. Once the reserve is met, the buy it now will go away!!!
Can store the car for free for 1 month, then $75.00 after that per month. Please ask any and all questions, and check my feedback!!! Overseas bidders welcome. Title and car will not be released until funds 100% clear his bank, so please don't show up with a check expecting to take the car home!!
Good luck!!
Car may be pulled for local sale at any time, but not likely.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible gives us a couple of looks

Sat, 02 Mar 2013

Put away your pixel paintbrushes, kids. Pack up your Photoshop. This is the real-deal 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible in its first official images. The droptop Chevrolet will roll into the bright lights of the Palexpo exhibition at next week's Geneva Motor Show, a four-wheeled statement of intent that General Motors is serious about taking its Corvette franchise global.
Chevy isn't providing anything in the way of further details with these two shots, but we've learned at least a couple of things about the car shown here. First off, the example seen in these images is fitted with the optional Z51 Performance Package - something that isn't immediately evident because there's no sign of the coupe model's prominent ductwork on its rear haunches. In order to accommodate the power folding hard tonneau cover, the vents that feed the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the underside of the car. The dark paint color on this example also does a good job of muting the contrasting black front fender vents and hood opening - Z51-spec design details that have proven to be somewhat controversial.
One other thing to note: These two shots also display the Stingray wearing different alloy wheels than the split five-spoke design shown at the hardtop's Detroit Auto Show unveiling in January. The simpler, thin five-spoke wheels should do a good job of showing off the Z51's upgraded brakes, and they'll be optional on the coupe as well.
