1956 Cheveolet Belair 2 Door Hardtop on 2040-cars

Year:1956 Mileage:12345
Location:

Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States

Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States

Fly in and drive it home.... like I did in 2009!

I purchased this car in Riverside California, I flew in and drove it back on Route "66" after a quick stop in Tucson, AZ to visit family.   While in Tucson Luna Industries rebuild and improved my generator by upping the amperage...due to a mounting bracket braking and shorting out.  Lunaindustries.com has photos of my car taken by the owner and the story that goes with it.... check that out.

As I mentioned, this is a LA factory, born and raised '56 Hardtop (see front license plate)... the car is extremely solid and restored by the previous owner.  It has won local cruize night awards and car show awards since being here in Tulsa,OK.   Growing up as a kid in the 60's I drove these old cars... and nothing I had back then drives like this car.  It has Coker Radial tires... great ride.  Improved shocks, and drives straight as an arrow with no vibration, hesitation, at any speed.   It is the original numbers matching 265 V8 and 2 speed Powerglide...  I have always kept it garaged and never driven it in the rain.

The paint is a 8/9 out of 10... showing very few flaws... tires are perfect, brakes are perfect, motor and transmission are perfect.  No drips, oil stains, or anything needing attention...

The paint on the center of the steering wheel is showing a few small checks, and a few tiny, tiny chips on the nose, and by the tail light (fuel door)...

This is not a 1000 point frame off restoration... but the price is more than fair, for the quality of this car...

Note:  The Mileage is not 12345... obviously.  It now shows 8,000+.... but have no idea if it was rolled back at time or frame on restoration....

I am posting a lot of pictures and will post more if needed...   Underneath the car is as clean as on top, and the trunk is flawless...   Send someone to check it out... or pick up the phone and call me...  "Jack" 918 346 3593

Sorry people.....  I can't seem to delete a couple of the uploaded photos so that I can add some of the engine compartment...... It says to delete some inorder to add new ones.... but it won't let me....

So... if you need a picture send me your email address and I will send them to you......

Soooooo sorry for the confusion....

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
