You are viewing a 1955 Chevy Bel Air 2 door sedan finished in Blue Metallic and India Ivory.  This car is being offered at no reserve!  The opening amount is the least I would take for her. If you're the only one bidding you might get one heck of a deal. I paid more than this and have put more $$ into her than the starting price by far. She has a straight body with nice paint set off with the Bel Air trim. Underneath she is solid. The chrome is in nice shape and looks to have been redone prior to my ownership.  15 inch Cragar wheels wrapped in B.F. Goodrich rubber with plenty of tread left.  This '55 has a small block Chevy 350 tuned with new plugs and wires.  The engine has been dressed up with an Edelbrock intake, carburetor, valve covers, and air cleaner for a little flash under the hood.  The engine is back by a B&M shifted TH350 transmission to a strong GM 12 Bolt Rear End. The car has disc brakes up front with drum brakes in the rear.   This car has the nice rumble with the Flowmaster exhaust. She sounds mean traveling down the road.  Heads will definitely be turning when you're cruising down the road.  Be ready anytime you pull in to get gas people are going to be walking up wanting to look and ask all kinds of questions about her.  This car is definitely a magnet.  The interior is nice with the original touches, but has some upgrades as well.  There's an added tilt column.  As you can see there's aftermarket A/C that runs off of R134 to keep you cool for the summer cruising.  The stock instrument panel and radio are still in place.  The speedo and fuel gauge are inop.  I have always used a GPS for my speedo.  It has an Alpine stereo CD player under the dash with a USB connection for your MP3/Ipod to connect to.  This is just a nice turn key '55 ready for you to cruise around this summer.  Many upgrades have already been done.  It needs nothing as it sits now or you could continue to upgrade if you want.  Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. The mileage is reading at 23,503, but I am not certain of the actual mileage considering the age of the car.   I really hate to sell the car, but I could use the money for an upcoming home purchase.  I still owe a few thousand to have the loan I took out to buy the car paid off (bought 2 Tri-5's within 2 months of each other and couldn't pay for this one in cash unfortunately).  The winning bidder will receive the car, registration, and bill of sale at the time of purchase.  The remaining balance on the loan will be paid off immediately upon receipt of funds for the car.  As soon as the title is received, I will sign it over and overnight it via USPS to the winning bidder.

The winning bidder must make contact within 48 hours of auction close.  A deposit of $500 will need to be made at the time of auction close to secure the car.  I will work with the winning bidder if shipping is needed.  The car will not be released until payment clears.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
