 1955 Post

Fresh small block with 600 lift. Crowller hydraulic roller cam. Edelbrock intake with 700 Holley carb. MSD dist. and MSD coil. Hooker super comp headers. New center force clutch with Lakewood blow proof bell housing rebuilt Muncie M21 with competition plus shifter. Factory Chevy rear with 411 gears. Car has been mini tubbed with Lakewood traction bars.

I’ve owned the car for 12 years. It’s all metal with no rust, original floors trunk and rockers. No patches. Quarters are straight, so are fenders and doors.  6 year old paint still smooth as glass. Factory steel hood with fiberglass big block Corvette scoupe.

Interior is good. Seats and dash are in excellent condition, never cut. Has Super Sun tach and oil, amp, and temp gauges. Gas gauge works, so does turn signal, head lights, reverse lights, and dome. Still has working vacuum wipers. All glass is good with exception of passenger side  front has crack. Has Weld wheels with good rubber.

Car comes with front bumper and brackets. Personal choice to run with it off.

I’m selling because I don’t have time to drive it anymore. It’s time for someone else to enjoy it and take it to the next level. Bid with confidence, this is a nice old ‘55 that you will be proud to own. This car draws attention wherever it goes.

If the car is shipped, buyer is responsible for all costs. Will assist with delivery to shipper.

Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
