Attention all you Carfaxers and Auto Checkers..... I don't know what will show up on the Auto Check but..... This is a 2 owner vehicle! I registered it back and forth from NJ to NC a few times in mine and my wife's name for insurance reasons. Also, this vehicle was NEVER in an accident per say. The truck  was hit on the passenger side rear quarter while the vehicle was parked! It was NOT in motion during the incident. The damage was MINOR and the vehicle was DRIVEN from the scene. Again only minor damage occurred and it was professionally repaired at a professional hi-tec body shop! If you can see where the damage was, I'll give you the truck. (just kidding) However, you can't see any sign of it though.

This is my personal vehicle. I have owned it for several years and it has been great! I have maintained this vehicle to the hilt. The vehicle is an everyday driver that has NOT been performance enhanced. In other words, It is completely stock and has NOT been beat! I do NOT 4 wheel this vehicle! I have taken it camping and fishing and most of the miles are highway miles. I have added a few very nice upgrades that were all professionally installed. As you can probably see from the pictures, I installed a Kenwood DNX9990 bluetooth/ smart phone compatible/ navigation stereo. The stereo itself was a $1,200.00 purchase! Also added was a very nice back up camera that ties into the stereo and automatically displays on the screen when the vehicle is put into reverse. As you can see there are weather tech custom fitted floor matts that are an excellent option and keeps the carpet clean and dry. Although the pictures may not show the drivers side matt, it is there. I just wanted to show a picture of how clean the carpets are! The windows are tinted with limo tint and rain guards are in place as you may have noticed. Also installed is a viper alarm and remote start, a 2" leveling kit, 17" ATX TEFLON COATED wheels that NEVER corrode and 4 matching Bridgestone Dueler A/T tires that have about 75% left! I spent over $4000.00 for all these little extras and everything was professionally installed by JC Motorsports in Galloway, NJ.

The truck is in excellent condition both in and out. Mechanically, the truck is perfect! I would drive this vehicle across the country at a moments notice and NOT have a worry in the world. There is NOTHING you will NEED to do to this vehicle except get in and drive. The breaks are great and all lines and hoses were replaced in the last year. The struts are very new. The vehicle is always serviced with fresh oil changes every 3,000 miles. There are NO leaks of any kind and EVERY option works exactly like it should. There are NO surprises with this exceptional vehicle. All lenses are clear and fog free. All glass is in perfect condition with the exception of a small bullseye chip in the lower part of the windshield  that does NOT interfere with anything as far as view is concerned. The little chip has been there for years and has NEVER spread. it would cost about $30.00 to have it filled but it doesn't bother me so I never had it done. The vehicle is a nonsmoking vehicle that anyone would be proud to own. As you can see the truck looks fantastic and believe it or not it runs even better. This vehicle is factory tight and does not drift or sway going down the highway. The ride is VERY smooth and quite frankly, it rides better that most cars!

This truck has been fantastic but it's simply just time to move on as I have several vehicles and am selling all to buy one. The front of my house is starting to look like a parking lot and since I just remodeled, I want people to be able to see my home from the road and not be looking through the 6 vehicles myself and my wife own. Anyway, I will say that in the one picture that by the way, was taken only 3 days ago, you may notice a scrape on the rear passenger side body cowling. That is NO LONGER THERE! I bought a new one and replaced it at a cost to me of $270.00. This was nothing more than a driveway mishap. For the sake of complete transparency and to cover my butt, I will say that this may be one of the nicest Avalanches in the country relative to the year and miles. I will say that there is a little ware on the drivers seat (seating area only) from getting in and out. There is also a small (nickel size) imperfection on the interior drivers door panel where you grab the door handle. Most likely it was from a ring of the previous owner. Anyway, theses extremely minor imperfection hardly take away from the value and beauty of this very well cared for truck.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me at any time at 609-513-1588. My name is Mike.

Please check my feedback and bid with confidence knowing there is no BS here!

Finally, if you'd like to make a verbal offer feel free to call. The vehicle is listed in other forums and will be for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. However, I will NOT end the auction once the reserve is met! My "BUY IT NOW" price is extremely reasonable and if you look you will see no other Avalanche compares to mine on this site or any other! I want to sell it so I priced it right!

Bid to win. This is not a whole sale vehicle or a fire sale. You get what you pay for! If you want extremely nice then please, bid to win!

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
