1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. It has 231,513 miles on the body. The engine was rebuilt two years ago,and had only 4,000 miles on the motor before jiffy lube destroyed it.My brother took the car too jiffy lube to have the oil changed. 90 miles later the motor locked with no oil in it.talked to them about it and they denied everything.I paid a chevrolet deal to inspect the cause of the lock up, and they found that when jiffy lubed removed the oil filter they loosened the oil cool bolt which connect directly to the oil filter. Its a crazy setup that gm had but they only had it for 93 and 94 LT1s, Gm put out a service bulletin letting service centers know about over tighten oil filter could cause the oil cooler bolt to comes loose on the next oil change. But I guess jiffy lube is not the dealer and you get what you pay for. Anyway long story short it came loose and the seal popped out. dumping oil until it was all gone. The car in its current state will start but it has a Knock, and its knocking. It can be driven on to a trailer. The car before this ran and drove fine,I had just put 4 new tires on it so it has tons of tread left. The car is complete with the exception that the interior head liner is missing I was in the process of restoring it. but didn't finish because the motor locked up.So the head liner is missing. Other than that its complete. The paint is fading and the clear coat is pealing, the front bumper is cracked an their are a few quarter size dents in the quarter panels. Thats about it. O when I rebuilt the motor I had put a mild Cam in it from Compcam. I was plaining on doing headers and an intake but I never got around to doing it. I was Plaining on rebuilding the Engine again but never got around to doing it. I have the the title and it is clear. If you have any questions just ask an ill be happy to answer them. Thanks

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
