I HAVE A VERY NICE RUNNING AND DRIVING 1999 CHEVY ASTRO CARGO VAN. IT IS AWD AND DOES GREAT ON THE ICE AND SNOW. I BOUGHT IT A FEW YEARS AGO TO DRIVE WHILE I SAVED UP FOR A NEWER TRUCK. I SAVED UP ENOUGH AND BOUGHT A $10,000 TRUCK SO THIS VAN JUST SITS CLEAN AND EMPTY. I HAD A LOCAL SHOP PUT A NEW BATTERY IN IT. A NEW ALTERNATOR NEW INTAKE GASKETS AND DROVE IT FOR 10,000 MILES WITH NO ISSUES. I PAID $750 FOR IT AND PUT $1,250 INTO IT. IT HAS GOOD MUD AND SNOW TIRES ON IT. IT HAS A ROOF RACK AND A TOW HITCH. IT HAS A TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER. EVERYTHING ON IT WORKS AS IT SHOULD. IT HAD 202,000 MILES ON IT WHEN I GOT IT IT IS NOW AT 212.000 + BUT HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. THE GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM TOOK THE BUMPER COVER OFF OF IT TO REPAIR ANOTHER VAN OF HIS. SO IT HAS NO FRONT BUMPER COVER. WITH A NEW HOOD AND BUMPER THIS VAN WOULD LOOK GREAT. IT CAN BE DRIVEN ANYWHERE AS IS. IT AVERAGES 15 MPG IT HAS THE 4.3 LITER VORTEC V6. LIKE I SAY IT RUNS AND DRIVES VERY WELL.

IT HAS SOME DINGS AND DENTS ON IT AND ON THE HOOD BUT NO MAJOR DAMAGE.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

2014 Chevrolet Cruze TD fires up its new diesel motor

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

Ever since General Motors confirmed plans to produce a diesel-powered Cruze back in 2011, we've been eagerly awaiting its arrival. And as part of the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Chevrolet has pulled back the cover on its oil-burning compact sedan, set to go on sale in the near future with a starting price of $25,695, not including $810 for destination.
The heart and soul of the Cruze TD (that's its official name) is a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline four-cylinder engine rated at 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated solely to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine also has an overboost function that will increase torque to 280 lb-ft for up to ten seconds. The full brace of official specs haven't been released, but GM tells us that highway fuel economy will come in at 42 miles per gallon. If that number sounds familiar, it's because the Volkswagen Jetta TDI has the exact same rating. Unlike the Jetta, however, the Cruze TD can run on B20 biodiesel, where as the Volkswagen can only accept B5.
Model-specific changes to this 2014 Cruze TD include an aero kit and unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there's a full leather interior, and Chevrolet will provide two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, not to mention a 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
