Cadillac Seville

1976

The "compact" Cadillacs we simply cant help but love

This is an amazingly beautiful condition Cadillac Seville whose immaculate and original presentation simply defies its mileage. It is a 2 previous owner car, always garage kept and a true credit to its owners for the loving and caring ownership given to her. She is finished in "Firethorn metallic" (2211) and "Antique Dark Firethorn" (712) leather interior.

It has its all original body, paint and chrome. All in excellent original condition and great presentation. The paint is mostly original with absolutely no signs of accident damage. There are some very minor imperfections here and there but the finish presents very well with a good shine. There is no rust in the body panels. It does present very well. Surprisingly, underneath the car is quite clean. It is currently part of a private collection and as such is professionally stored in a climate controlled showroom.

The leather interior is simply perfect without any signs of wear, marks, scratches or blemishes of any kind. The headlining is like new without any of the typical sagging of the fabric often seen on these cars. All finishes, chrome, faux wood, steering wheel and carpets present beautifully. It is truly very nice and sumptuously inviting. Even the steering column near the key, where it is normally scratched from even modest use, is entirely blemish free and looks like new. It was the virtual "new appearance" of the inside of the car that really attracted me when I bought her. She comes with her original Cadillac interior and trunk floor mats.

Everything works as it should – electric windows, seats, aerial, cruise control, auto & delay headlights, gauges and instruments. Heater blows toasty and A/C is ice cold.

Mechanically excellent with no oil leaks or exhaust leaks. Simply, an ultra-smooth highway cruiser that fires up first time, every time. You drive this car over the roughest of roads, or even a railway line, and it will glide over them better than any car of its era. She is simply amazing (see brief video). Brand new battery, good tyres and brakes and just great to drive. You won’t find a better priced semi-classic cruiser with all the creature comforts to drive this summer! She is STUNNING!

Please note, I am only selling this car because I am space limited. If I had the choice, I would keep her for sure. I will be a little sad to see her go.

Brochures from the era - a true 70's icon design.

Absolutely stunning interior in truly "as new" condition

The trunk is literally as new without a single mark!

Space-saver tire never used.

Will add engine photos tomorrow 6/25/14

Please be patient - it is as clean as the rest of the car!

I realised after I took the photos that the hood was not latched properly on the right side. It sits correctly in real-life

This Cadillac is part of a private collection. Although licensed and bonded, I am not a main-stream retail car dealer or broker; I am a professional car collector of some 30 years with considerable experience and knowledge of predominantly British cars. I simply love excellent condition cars of a wide variety and simply love cars! I take a lot of pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated should be undertaken BEFORE you bid or make an offer and I openly welcome any potential buyer to come and personally inspect the car. Once you bid or make an offer, you are doing so to buy WITHOUT conditions. A $1000.00 deposit (non-refundable) is required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. All payments are non-refundable. Payments as described above form an important part of this purchase contract and so, if all the funds are not received as outlined above, I reserve the right to terminate the transaction without notice. If there has been any deposit or other part payments received and I elect to terminate the contract, I reserve the right to keep any such deposits or payments and resell the vehicle to another bidder or interested party or re-list the vehicle at any time. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a national and worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost.

As a collector and experienced restorer of a variety of cars, I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard. Unless specifically stated, the car is not of show standard but of good quality "driver" condition. Please understand, the very nature of any classic car of any kind is such that it is not always possible to attend to every single item, or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked an item. Please note, fitted radio/stereo systems are usually subject to upgrade by purchasers so I do not ensure operation of these but simply keep the "original look". Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next. After all, it is some 38 years old. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition:

The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s request prior to the close of the auction.  Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Being a classic car in excess of 10 years of age, in most US states, the mileage may be recorded as “exempt”. In this regard the seller makes no warranties as to the accuracy of the mileage indicated or shown. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any additional costs including storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Whereas I am happy to store the car in excess of 30 days from auction end, a cost of $35 per day shall apply beyond 30 days of auction end. Also, you must remember that this is a classic +/-30 year old vehicle, and while it is up to you, I do not recommend that you just “hop in and drive it across the country”.  At least, I have never done that.  I have always professionally transported the cars in enclosed carriers from where I bought them to my home.

PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID AS, RESPECTFULLY, THERE CAN BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Cadillac CTS wins 2014 Motor Trend Car of the Year [w/video]

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

For the second time, the Cadillac CTS has been named Motor Trend's Car of the Year. After winning the COTY crown for 2008, the new-for-2014 CTS outdid the other two finalists for Car of the Year honors, the Mazda3 and its corporate cousin, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
What's notable about the Caddy's victory, though, is how it simply brushed off its competition. Both the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series failed to make the finalist's bracket, leaving the CTS to claim victory. "It had to beat [Mercedes and BMW] on style, on performance, on comfort, and on quality. It has," Motor Trend said in its COTY recap for the CTS.
The team at Motor Trend praised the CTS chassis, calling it "fantastic," and citing weight advantage the Caddy has over the competition. There was also praise heaped on the car's engines, with the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder getting nods of approval from the MT team. The team also raved about the VSport model and its twin-turbocharged V6, magnetic shocks and other performance accoutrements.

GM recalling Cadillac ATS, XTS, Chevy Impala over faulty brake lamps

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

General Motors has issued a recall covering 1,627 sedans over faulty brake lamps. Both the 2013 Cadillac ATS and XTS are affected by this problem, as is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala.
According to an official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, "the brake lamps may intermittently flash without the brakes being applied and the cruise control may disengage" on these vehicles. The report does not state that the brakes themselves are faulty, but rather that "if the brake lamps flash when the vehicle is not slowing, a following driver may not adjust vehicle speed when the vehicle is in fact braking."
This marks the first recall for the 2013 Cadillac ATS, as well as the recently introduced 2014 Chevy Impala. In late 2012, over 12,000 Cadillac XTS models were recalled due to a head restraint issue.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
