1994 Cadillac Seville Sts Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars

Year:1994 Mileage:163437
Location:

Up for sale is my 1994 Cadillac STS. 163*** miles. Car is in good shape - runs great, extremely solid starter, but needs some work. The car has been well maintained over its life. No rattles or clunks when driving. Priced to sell.

The good:
Starts and runs very well and reliably
Interior is in great shape
No cracking of leather - leather in very good shape
Full power everything - everything works
Heated seats
Tons of life left in all-weather tires, comes with brand new set of winter tires also
295 horsepower Northstar engine
Trailer hitch

The bad:
Brake lines need to be replaced
Brake pads will need to be replaced in the next year
Struts may need be replaced before too long
Neutral indicator switch is finicky - in cold weather, you may need to start the car in neutral (but it starts fine)
Stereo doesn't work
Some minor body rust (see photos)
Dog chewed on the front seat cupholders when he was a puppy (see photos)
Bottom of front bumper was damaged by a snowdrift (see photos)

Other notes:
The car's air-ride suspension was swapped out for a solid-state suspension in 2012.

Let me know if you have questions. Upgrading to a stationwagon for more room in the back.

Thanks for looking.

First Cadillac ELR rolls off the line

Thu, 30 May 2013

Gearing up for the Belle Isle Grand Prix this weekend, General Motors invited some of the Chevrolet and Cadillac racecar drivers out to its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. While there, the racers - including IndyCar Driver and Chevrolet Volt owner, Simona De Silvestro - witnessed the very first 2014 Cadillac ELR to roll off the assembly line.
These vehicles are not destined for customers, however, but instead pre-production units will be used by engineers for testing purposes. Actual production of ELR consumer models is expected to commence closer to the end of this year. As a refresher, this range-extended electric Cadillac shares much of its powertrain with the Volt but will have a sportier coupe design inspired by the Converj Concept. De Silvestro manged to snap a few images of here own, which you can see in the gallery below.

GM CEO Akerson calls out Tesla, says Cadillac will compete on EVs

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

Cadillac will be taking on Tesla Motors, the underdog EV manufacturer that's seen heaps of critical acclaim and stock market buzz with its most recent sedan, the Model S. "If you want to compete head-to-head with Tesla, and we ultimately will, you want to do it with a Cadillac," Dan Akerson, the chairman and CEO of General Motors, told media in Washington, according to The Detroit News.
Akerson continued, telling The News, "We'll sell more Volts and lose less money on the Volts than they'll lose on the Model S." He also took time to point out that Tesla getting vehicles out to customers isn't a guarantee of success or permanence, using Fisker as an example, saying "Does anybody even remember Fisker? I mean, there were a number of them; they are all gone."
This strong talk from Akerson comes after Doug Parks, another GM exec, let slip that the Detroit-based manufacturer has an EV in the works that will cover 200 miles per charge and only cost about $30,000, a massive upgrade over similarly priced EVs that struggle to top 100 miles per charge. Until that vehicle arrives, though, GM is preparing the Cadillac ELR, a small coupe that, like the Volt with which it shares technology, uses a gas engine as a mobile generator to recharge the batteries. Akerson took aim at Tesla again, saying, "But I do think when the ELR comes out late this year, early next - it's certainly the same postal code as Tesla, but now we're going to move up. It's not going to be a mass-produced car."
