Last of the big boy RWD V8’s! LT-1 “Vette” engine, only 76k original miles. Adriatic Blue with matching interior. All the typical Caddy options – digital dash, power seats with a million settings, lumbar, heated seats, rear vanity mirrors, twilight sentinel, power trunk, nice dual exhaust, auto-leveling, power antenna…and it goes on and on. It is stock minus an in-dash DVD and HID headlights.

I always wanted one of these and looked for a ’94-’96 in blue for over a year. This car is actually more rare because it does NOT have leather or a vinyl roof! I actually bought this as my winter car but after I got it home and realized how nice it was I parked it and bought a truck instead. Having said that I’ve driven it from MI to see friends in NH three times, and up to Midland ON for work a few times and it performed flawlessly! 23mpg all day long and all the power you could want. Originally from Virginia and brought to MI a few years ago where the last owner kept it in a garage, as did I.

Car has new (from previous owner): water pump and thermostat, power steering pump, A/C compressor, plugs and wires

Car has brand new (from me): battery, tires, all front end parts – steering stabilizer, center link, end links, rod ends….etc.

“Major” disclosures about the car (even though they’re not):

-some wear on the driver’s seat (shown in photo)

-plastic cover for hood release is missing (just the cover, handle works great)

-little knob on power seat switch is broken (shown in photo, seat motor still functions perfect)

-my wife says the power lumbar on the passenger seat isn’t working, but the motor functions so I’m not sure the issue

-car has factory alarm, but previous owner put in an aftermarket alarm as well. After I replaced the cars’ battery I now can’t get the key fob reprogrammed to lock/unlock the doors….maybe an easy fix if you know more about alarms than me?

-the remote for the DVD player was either stolen or lost. The unit still works great (about $30 to replace)

-the brakes work good, too good! I know nothing about drum brakes but I’m thinking they might need to be adjusted. When the car sits for awhile the brakes become very ‘sensitive’ until you pump the pedal a few times.

-there are some scratches around the car, most notably around the drivers’ door handle (where an elderly person would have trouble finding the keyhole). Also some on the drivers’ tail, I’m guessing the car was either bumped in a parking lot by a grocery cart or possibly a car. Neither of these things detract from the overall beauty and condition of this 17yo car. No rust showing, no damage in the form of dents or major dings, and nothing major happening with the body. When the car is cleaned up it still looks fantastic, even the original wheels and stainless rockers look great. I'll have the car fully detailed prior to transfer.

Very minor things to fix if you wanted the car to be ‘perfect’…or drive it the way it is! Low miles and will last a long time. Although I love these cars some of the prices I see being asked for them are a little ridiculous imo. I’ve priced mine LOW and FAIR for everyone. Also, I obviously need the standard “no guarantee or warranty” clause thrown in here….as assumed with any used car. If you needed to have the car picked up and shipped I will accommodate as best as possible.

So that’s it! Not much else to say except “it’s a Caddy”….purrs like a kitten and it definitely floats down the road as an older Caddy should.

Update - I apologize for the double description...I just wanted to clarify that the vehicle has lower than average wear. Not sure why it reposted everything and Ebay is working on it, although they haven't been any help. Thx

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

Liberace's gilded Cadillac could be yours

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

With their chrome grilles and oversized wheels, it's hard not to notice a Cadillac these days. But this one is even more blingtastic on account of the 23.75-karat gold-leaf bodywork.
The 1931 Cadillac Golfer's Drop Head Coupé is said to have belonged to the inimitable performer Liberace, who didn't just have it covered in gold - he also had the exterior door handles plated in silver and the inside handles in 24-karat gold as well. It's also got a white leather interior and headlights that - well ahead of their time (if you'll pardon us, Mr. Tucker) - pivot with the steering wheel. All that bling is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission that pales in comparison to the seven, eight and even nine-speed gearboxes appearing on luxury sedans today.
The project was undertaken over the course of three years in the 1970s by one Jack Smith from Kansas. Smith (if that was his real name) sold it at auction in 1975, and it was most recently displayed for 12 years at a museum in Germany which claimed it was Liberace's own. The car is now going up for sale by Barons' at the Sandown Park horse racing track in Surrey, England, on September 17, when bidding starts at 85,000 pounds - equivalent to over $130,000 at today's rates.

GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.
