Cadillac Eldorado Covertable 1973 Solid Arizona Car No Reserve !!!!!!! on 2040-cars
Schenectady, New York, United States
This Is a solid Arizona car with just a little surface rust. The frame is solid but the floor boards have a few pin holes. The car is in need of a total restoration. The convertible top needs replacing and the frame is broke. I believe you can order the parts that the top frame needs. The top motor works. The rear seat has been recovered but the front seats need recovering, Covers included. The motor and transmission are strong. The tires are very good and it has aluminum wheels. I was told that they are a rare factory option when I purchased the car. I tried to google pictures of other wheels like these from the factory but I could not find any. So I can't confirm that the wheels are from the factory. I have all four wheels but the spare Is currently on the left front. When I registered the car last year it had an Arizona title from the early 80's. I purchased the car from a collector who says he had it in storage for a few years. He never applied for a New York title. It currently has a clear New York Title. I believe it has most of the chrome trim, It was off the car when I purchased it. It has a new battery that is not currently installed. When I went to reinstall it I could not open the hood, it is stuck closed so I have not started it yet this year. When It was parked last year it ran and drove good, so I would expect the same when the battery is reinstalled. This was going to be a father and son project but I just don't have the time for it. This is a no reserve auction, Good luck bidding..

40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax
Thu, 24 Jul 2014
The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
2014 Cadillac CTS configurator open for business
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Cadillac has just set the new configurator for the redesigned, 2014 CTS live. While we've already tested out the new CTS, this is our first chance to play with all the interior and exterior color options and to get a fair idea of the price. The new CTS covers a broad swath from the $46,025 base model, with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, to the $59,995 VSport, complete with its brawny, 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6.
It doesn't take much to send the CTS's price up from there, though. Opt for the VSport Premium trim, and the price immediately jumps $10,000. Opting for one of the premium paint colors is all that's needed to nudge the CTS past $70,000. For reference, a 556-horsepower CTS-V (previous-generation, naturally) starts at $64,515.
Click over and have a look at the configurator for yourself.
2013 Cadillac XTS [w/video]
Wed, 30 Jan 2013The Cadillac Of Stopgaps
As confusing as most alphanumeric car names have gotten in recent years, at least one constant has been that the letter "X" is generally indicative of a crossover. Then why did General Motors use this letter on its new 2013 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan? Well, for that, we'll have to look to the world of mathematics where "X" stands for an unknown variable or a placeholder. Now we're talking. The XTS is just an interim product sitting at the top of Cadillac's four-door food chain until the brand gets a true flagship in place. That sounds like a lot of resources to spend on what will likely be a one-and-done model, but the automaker needed to get something - anything - to replace the DTS.
So here you have the 2013 XTS. A big luxury sedan that was created to bridge the gap between Cadillac's recent past and its pending future. Going into our week with this XTS knowing that it was a stopgap measure proved to be both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, we know (or hope) that this car will act as a baseline for future high-end Cadillac models, but at the same time, we couldn't help but be mindful of past stopgap models, albeit in more entry-level segments, like the Cimarron and Catera.
