HER HISTORY: Shes a 1988 Cadillac Sedan deVille that was purchased NEW in November 1987 with 48 miles on her. Today LADY has 48,336 original miles!!! Her original owners were my parents. She lived in their garage everyday of her life with them. In 1999 they gave her to me, and she has lived EVERY DAY of her life with me in my garage!!!!! She's NEVER had any face lifts or surgeries of ANY kind, in other words, she's never been wrecked, never been in distress or need of repair. You might ask why such low mileage...Mom and Dad was so happy to own this beautiful Cadillac and BEAUTIFUL she was in 1988 and still is, they was so particular with her and keeping her BEAUTIFUL. When I received LADY I also had other vehicles so I continued to only drive LADY on occasion. It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.
Cadillac mulling CTS Coupe successor after all
Thu, 04 Apr 2013The 2014 Cadillac CTS made a big splash last week at the New York Auto Show, but now that we've seen the sedan, we can start to wonder about whether coupe and wagon versions are in the cards. According to Edmunds, Cadillac is at least considering bringing back the CTS Coupe for a second generation, which seems like an even better chance since the brand's global marketing director, Jim Vurpillat, was quoted as saying that the car was the top-selling luxury coupe in the industry.
Of course, this goes against reports we heard last year that Caddy's coupe and wagon would live on just not under the CTS name, but the interview with Vurpillat has us hopeful for a next-generation CTS Coupe. If it does come to fruition, we would expect the new two-door to have a largely unique exterior design like the current CTS Coupe, to echo that of intended rivals like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and even the high-dollar BMW 6 Series.
