2001 Cadillac Deville Dts Pearl White Mechanics Special on 2040-cars
El Paso, Texas, United States
Up for auction AS-IS and WHERE-IS is a 2001 Cadillac DeVille DTS with 4.6L V8 Northstar engine. It is a beautiful car with very nice pearl white paint, polished chrome factory rims, leather interior, and Bose premium sound system. The air conditioning works good. The tires have approximately 60 to 70% of the original tread still left. It would be a great car for a do-it-yourself mechanic if you had an engine from another car or a salvage yard that you could put in it. It needs an engine replacement or rebuild. The car starts but it is not roadworthy and will need to be picked up locally and trailered or towed by the winning bidder. The transmission shifts hard and will need work too. A part for the transmission was purchased based on the recommendations of a mechanic and is included with the car. It was being driven regularly until it started having engine problems last fall. I have been told the 8th digit in the VIN is a 9 which tells you what engine should work in this car if you have one you would want to install but it is your responsibility to verify that information with a dealer or salvage yard. It is a very nice car on the outside, and the inside is also in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. Please ask any questions through eBay messaging prior to bidding. There is no warranty on this vehicle; written or implied. Cash payment is due at pickup within 7 days of the auction ending. Thanks for looking.

Corvette's Performance Data Recorder headed to other cars, will Cadillac ATS-V be first?
Fri, 14 Nov 2014For 2015, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray gained a novel piece of high-performance technology: The Performance Data Recorder. This trick system combines video from a front-mounted camera with in-car data and GPS information to help drivers record and study their lap times, complete with data overlays. While it's a clever tool for track days, it's also finding popularity as a built-in dash cam of sorts. To this point, the technology has been a Corvette exclusive, but General Motors' executive vice president of global product development, Mark Reuss, has confirmed to Autoblog that it will soon be available in other vehicles.
At a media luncheon on Thursday, we asked whether GM was keen to expand usage of the technology to other models, and if we could expect to see something soon. Reuss coyly replied, "What's soon?" When we suggested the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V (which is scheduled to debut at next week's LA Auto Show), he replied, "There will be other uses, and it won't be that far away. How's that?"
Certainly not an outright confirmation, but we wouldn't be at all surprised to see the next high-po Cadillac roll under the klieg lights at the Los Angeles Convention Center next Wednesday brandishing more than just 450 horsepower.
Combative de Nysschen defends Cadillac move, naming change
Mon, 29 Sep 2014
Johan de Nysschen isn't afraid of taking quick, decisive actions, even if they are criticized. Since taking the wheel at Cadillac, he instigated moving the luxury division's base of operations to Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood and introduced a new naming scheme for the future of the brand, like he did at Infiniti. The polarizing boss recently explained his feelings about the future of Cadillac in more depth on his Facebook page, but unfortunately only his friends could read it. Thankfully, Daily Kanban posted much of the strongly worded missive for the whole world to see.
Much of the message examines the decision to move some employees to New York. De Nysschen claims that it's all about giving Cadillac distance from Detroit to reshape itself. It allows for, "No distractions. No side shows. No cross-brand corporate considerations. No homogenized lowest common denominator approach. Just pure, unadulterated, CLASS."
Off-road Cadillac Escalade adds some extra bush country capability
Wed, 26 Jun 2013So, you're a dyed-in-the-wool General Motors fan, but like the notion of a machine like the Hennessey Velociraptor. We have good news for you. Behold the Aria Coachworks XPLORE Cadillac Escalade. For a modest fee, Aria will outfit your Escalade with a custom suspension, BF Goodrich all-terrain tires wrapped around aluminum wheels, a Warn winch and a special exhaust. There's even a snorkel option for those of you with aspirations toward deep water crossings. Consider yourself warned, however: unlike other GMT900 SUVs, the Cadillac only has an all-wheel drive system, not the more rugged four-wheel drive setup of the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon). Outside, the luxury SUV gets matte paint, black chrome trim, XPLORE power running boards and a roof rack system.
The interior also receives a few fun changes as well, but we're more interested in the fact that buyers can snag a power roof top tent. You know, in case you need to camp out at Best Buy for the PS4. There's also a matching camp trailer and, our personal favorite, a matching BMW GS motorcycle. Bikes not your bag of tricks? That's fine. Aria will also sell you a matched Airstream trailer or Old Town wooden canoes. As much as we want to hate this, we love the notion of bashing through the woods in a $100,000 Cadillac battlewagon with our GS in tow. Check the press release below for more information.
