2000 Cadillac Deville --- very clean inside and out(almost like new --- very well kept up car--- no paint scratches or dents(never been in any type of wreck or fender-bender) Odometer shows 196000 miles but the person my father bought the car from ran it low on oil so my father had the Cadillac dealorship replace it with a new Northstar engine at 167000 miles so the new engine has about 30,000 miles on it and it runs strong and smooth(lots of power!) Exhaust is very quiet till you punch the pedal to pass and then it growls.  My father passed away a year and half ago and I have had the car since and it has been a dream car compared to any other car I have ever owned.  Suspension is awesome as if riding on air but handles very nice due to the auto sensing suspension that alters handling on demand determined by conditions. Everything works on this car.
I am selling because I want a motor-home so I can travel when I want and not be burdened with hotels.
All his papers(will, titles, and other stuff were lost in the Bastrop fires a little over a year ago so I went to the DMV and they gave me a "DMV vehichle bill of sale" and they say the new owner can get a bonded title with no difficulty.(you can google "bonded title" on internet to see how it is done) DMV said it will cost about $200 total for this. DMV did a vin search for me and verified car is free of any liens and loans.
I have searched the internet and Devilles in this condition are selling for 5500-6500 so I am starting at the price of 3000(would consider trade for a motorhome)
Message me with any questions or concerns
Thank you for looking, happy bidding!

Cadillac's DeVille brand celebrates its 50th anniversary in the marketplace with a completely revamped car and the introduction of groundbreaking high-tech features.

The new DeVille is evolutionary in design, yet is more than 2 inches shorter and narrower than last year's version, giving it a slightly trimmer, cleaner look. Its wheelbase is actually 1.5 inches longer, while interior space is virtually as roomy as the 1999 car. It is available in three models: the base DeVille, a ritzy DeVille High Luxury Sedan (DHS) and a sporty, five-passenger DeVille Touring Sedan (DTS).

This year's car benefits from a stiffer body architecture that provides a notable increase in torsional rigidity. That not only allows for improvements in crashworthiness as well as noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) control, but also in handling dynamics. What's more, Cadillac's Northstar V8 has been redesigned from the inside out to achieve better mileage with regular fuel, smoother and quieter operation, and certification as a low-emission vehicle (LEV) for California and certain Northeast states.

Night Vision is the first automotive application of thermal-imaging technology that helps drivers avoid collisions by enhancing their ability to detect objects well beyond the normal range of their headlights. Another DeVille "first" is the use of Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist, which uses an array of four sensors to help the driver in parking maneuvers. Then there's StabiliTrak 2.0, the latest version of GM's highly acclaimed stability-control system. It is enhanced for 2000 with the addition of active steering effort compensation, which slightly increases turning effort during sudden maneuvers, and side-slip-rate control, which responds to traction loss at all four wheels by gently applying both front brakes to help the driver regain control. In addition, the DeVille DTS will feature the second generation of Cadillac's continuously variable road-sensing suspension, called the CVRSS 2.0.

All DeVilles include leading-edge passive restraints, a CD-based navigation system and the OnStar communications system, as well as the industry's first light emitting diode (LED) taillight and center high-mounted stoplight combination. Building on its reputation for comfort and convenience, the 2000 DeVille also offers such luxury touches as three-zone climate control, adaptive seating, massaging lumbar seats and a new center seat/storage system. Rear-seat passengers enjoy a theater seating layout (for optimum forward visibility), heated seats and power lumbar adjustments.

As Cadillac's flagship sedan, the new DeVille is a sophisticated American luxury car that remains true to Cadillac's heritage, yet hints at the division's high-tech future. We think that mix will appeal to both the Town Car set and Cadillac purists alike.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

GM considering new powertrain options for large SUVs

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

Aside from the new General Motors offerings, there's not a whole lot of action going on in the fullsize SUV segment. That doesn't seem to be stopping GM from pushing the envelope in the market as Automotive News is reporting that the automaker is looking to introduce some new powertrain options into the Chevy Tahoe (and Suburban), GMC Yukon (and Yukon XL) and the Cadillac Escalade - all have been redesigned for the 2015 model year.
Now, we already know that GM and Ford are collaborating on nine- and ten-speed transmissions for a broad range of applications (including the big SUVs), but this new report says that GM is also considering other options as a way to one-up the competition and, of course, to optimize fuel economy. AN quotes Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer for GM trucks, as saying that "interesting powertrain technologies" are coming including a return of a hybrid SUV and possibly even a diesel engine. Although it sounds like the latter could come down to how customers respond to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel.

Cadillac CT6 ushers in new naming convention

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

Johan de Nysschen has been at his new post as president of Cadillac for not even three months , but he's already seen two of his most notable accomplishments from his two-year tenure as president of Infiniti matched by Cadillac. The brand has announced that it is relocating its headquarters, and is now officially changing its nomenclature.
The brand's new flagship model will abandon the familiar three-letter designation enjoyed by every other model in the range (aside from the Escalade), and adopt an alpha-numeric title. So, rather than the expected title of LTS, Cadillac's top-end car will be called the CT6.
Of course, this won't be limited to just one model. According to Cadillac's press release, "familiar lettering like 'CT' would be used for car models, with the number indicating the relative size and position of the cars in the hierarchy of Cadillac models." And yes, that means what you think it means - Cadillac will use the exact same naming formula, albeit with different letters, as Infiniti.
