1991 Cadillac DeVille  Yellow on Yellow 82,600 miles.ONE TIME LISTING registration ends in October and if no one saves it, it's going to the big junkyard in the sky. If interested and would like to make offer, E-Mail Me. Car still drives and rides very nice, no rattles at all. I got this car 4 years ago, with about 64,000 miles. Did a complete tune-up at that time. Plugs, wires, fuel filter, cap and rotor. And  replaced all 8 fuel injectors. About a year and a half later, a piece of water pump gasket blew out. Put a new water pump in. And about a year later same problem. Replaced the gasket but stripped a few bolts on the upper left side of pump. I put stop leak in, and it works most of the time, occasionally it leaks. I recently took the thermostat out, and it has not leaked since then. Anti-lock brakes do not work, but the brakes work fine without anti lock. There are 2 cracks on the passenger side front fender, it is a plastic fender. The car still looks pretty good. The roof and trunk lid you can see cracking of paint. Last 2 pictures are of trunk lid and pillar behind rear seat. The hood and front fenders might have been repainted, I do not see any cracking on that paint. The interior is still very nice, some cracking in the leather, no rips or tears. The armrest on driver door has some cracks in the vinyl, shown with picture. The button covers on the rear power window buttons are missing. All power windows work good. The headliner is sagging. I tried converting the A/C to R-134 it lasted a couple of days, and does not work now. The Power Antenna is stuck in up position, and the radio is on the way out, only front speakers working, and they crackle occasionally. The trunk seems to always have condensation on the inside of trunk lid, and smells a little moldy. Any questions or requests for more pictures, feel free to ask.

Cadillac considering more electric cars, Elmiraj business case gaining popularity

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

Cadillac's electrification isn't likely to stop at the $76,000 ELR coupe, according a report from TheDetroitBureau.com. Speaking to Cadillac's global sales boss, Bob Ferguson, a successful ELR will likely lead to a larger, even more upscale offering than the Volt-based two-door. "I could certainly see a larger vehicle, something even more luxurious," Ferguson said of a potential second, battery-powered Caddy.
That car would likely boast a more potent version of the Voltec powertrain that motivates the Volt and ELR. This next-generation system is still sometime off, though, and won't likely arrive until the second-generation Volt hits the market.
Besides hinting at future plug-in hybrids, Ferguson spoke to TDB about the improving business case for the Elmiraj Concept, shown at the Pebble Beach Concours in Monterey in August. "I'm very excited about the reception for the Elmiraj," Ferguson said. "I'd like to see it in showrooms as soon as possible," he added, before saying that a business case for the production version of the big coupe still needed to be presented to the brass. "It was made to be operationalized," Ferguson added, which is just what we want to hear when it comes to big, flashy concept cars.

Cadillac CT6 ushers in new naming convention

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

Johan de Nysschen has been at his new post as president of Cadillac for not even three months , but he's already seen two of his most notable accomplishments from his two-year tenure as president of Infiniti matched by Cadillac. The brand has announced that it is relocating its headquarters, and is now officially changing its nomenclature.
The brand's new flagship model will abandon the familiar three-letter designation enjoyed by every other model in the range (aside from the Escalade), and adopt an alpha-numeric title. So, rather than the expected title of LTS, Cadillac's top-end car will be called the CT6.
Of course, this won't be limited to just one model. According to Cadillac's press release, "familiar lettering like 'CT' would be used for car models, with the number indicating the relative size and position of the cars in the hierarchy of Cadillac models." And yes, that means what you think it means - Cadillac will use the exact same naming formula, albeit with different letters, as Infiniti.

GM winding down Chevrolet brand in Europe

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

If you've taken even a cursory look at GM's European strategy and wondered how it can target the market there with both Chevrolet and Opel/Vauxhall, you're not alone. In fact General Motors itself has found it difficult to justify the two-pronged approach. That's why it's essentially pulling Chevy from the European marketplace.
Instead of trying to ply European buyers with what are mostly former Daewoo products rebadged as Chevys, GM will now let Opel (or Vauxhall in the UK) represent its mass-market aspirations. Chevrolet will keep its presence in Russia and other former Soviet markets, and will continue selling certain niche products in Eastern and Western Europe. The Corvette, for example, has long been sold in Europe through Cadillac dealerships, which for its part is currently "finalizing plans for expanding in the European market".
While the shift in strategy is expected to help GM get a stronger foothold in the European market in the long run, in the short term the restructuring will cost it dearly: between $700 million and $1 billion, according to its own estimates, split between the last quarter of this year and the first half of the next.
