For sale is a custom 1970 Cadillac Coupe Deville convertible with all original matching numbers and stamping. The Exterior is a very rare Candy Tangerine with heavy metal flake Dupont Paint worth $5000 with all original chrome stripping and bumpers. The paint looks like glass and the metallic flakes really turn heads and stand out in the sun. The Interior consists of all white leather seats with orange accents and piping including custom cadillac emblems in the headrests worth $2500. The dashboard and door panels have been resprayed along with new carpet layed throughout the inside of the car. Kenwood 6 1/2's have been custom installed-to-fit in the door panels along with 6x9's in the rear worth $800 but I have not got around to hooking the audio system up completely. The factory radio and clock are still in the dash. Under the hood is an original 472cid 8 cylinder engine with full dual magnaflow exhausts that runs like a bat out of hell!!! All belts and spark plug wires have been replaced and vehicle is kept maintenance regularly. The convertible top, power windows, seats, blower, heat, and windshield wipers all work properly. This car has the original rear fender skirts and cadillac hubcaps from the day it left the dealer. It has been appraised and insured as a classic in class 2 showroom condition at $24,800 with specific notification that worth will increase with age. This means the winner of this auction can take this appraisal straight to there insurance provider and insure this car for equal or greater value, assuring that if anything happens to the car the appraisal worth will be PAID IN FULL! Keep in mind that the car is 43 years old and I have owned it for 5 years so it does have some flaws; like weathered bumpers, and minor nicks. It has been trailered cross country for car shows but if need be driven from Missouri to California all you need is gas money! Serious Inquirers only!!! Happy Bidding.

Watch Brad Pitt's Chinese Cadillac XTS commercial
Thu, 14 Mar 2013Once upon a time, in a land not so far from this one, Brad Pitt was the very face anti-consumerism. You see, when he slipped into the role of the elitist-loathing, food-abusing, violence-embracing Tyler Durden from Fight Club, his visage was inextricably married to images of leveling credit card corporations with nothing more than a little human fat and some determination. Of course, that was before Pitt settled into old age with a passel of children at his feet. Now, it seems, he'll shill for something as long as it doesn't damage his reputation in America.
Need proof? Look no further than this Chinese ad for the Cadillac XTS. In it, Pitt contentedly wafts the big front-wheel drive barge around San Francisco against a mildly euphoric soundtrack. You can check out the scene for yourself below, just make sure you have your last meal squarely situated in your stomach before pressing play. We have to wonder if Pitt wakes up in the middle of the night with Chuck Palahniuk's oddly omniscient words echoing in his ears: "Then you're trapped in your lovely nest, and the things you used to own, now they own you."
Cadillac CTS Vsport laps the N"urburgring in 8:14.10 [w/video]
Wed, 28 Aug 2013You don't have to be German to test your car at the Nürburging. You just have to be serious about beating the Germans on their own home turf. That's why Nissan tests its GT-R at the Nordschleife to challenge the Porsche 911, and why Cadillac - which is no less serious about putting up a fight to German performance sedans - has returned to the 'Ring once again with its latest.
This time it's the turn of the new CTS Vsport, the sportier version of Cadillac's new mid-range sedan that aims to bridge the gap until the arrival of the next CTS-V. So how'd it fare? At the end of what we're sure was an exhaustive test session, the new CTS Vsport clocked a time of 8:14.10.
To put that into context, General Motors points out that the time places the new sedan six seconds ahead of the first-gen CTS-V, whose 400-horsepower V8 engine was actually less potent than the Vsport's new 410hp 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6. That's still a good fifteen seconds slower than the outgoing CTS-V that clocked a 7:59 in 2009 with its 556hp supercharged V8, but only a second behind the E60-generation BMW M5 with its high-revving 500hp V10.
Cadillac chief says ATS convertible, wagon on the table
Wed, 15 Jan 2014What we do know is that the ATS will wear at least one more bodystyle. That comes from Cadillac head Bob Ferguson, who answered "Absolutely" when Automotive News asked him about the possibility of another variant. What we don't know is what that bodystyle or styles will be.
We now have a sedan and coupe ATS, there's supposedly a V sedan coming. After that, a convertible is a likely option given that the man who just became the global product honcho at General Motors, Mark Reuss, admitted to having one already designed in 2012. The decision on it can't get out of the underworld and a wagon is the other option, but the droptop would seem to make the most sense if one considers the competitive set: the BMW 4 Series and Audi A5 convertibles are hot property and Mercedes is bringing a C-Class convertible. Meanwhile wagons are the sentimental utility vehicles that, refusing to die, seem forever destined for life support... CTS Sport Wagon, anyone?
Based on Ferguson's statements, it appears that what Cadillac definitely won't do is play model variant catch-up with the European luxury brands it has spent years hunting down, telling Automotive News, "We want to keep our focus on a limited number of vehicles and do them very well."
