1969 Caddy Convertible, Black W/ White Top on 2040-cars
Lexington, Alabama, United States
1969 Cadilliac DeVille Convertible, ! 472 V-8, series 683, 6 passenger. 45 year old "Classic Ride", 225" long (18'-9") It's a head turner, and everyone waves at you! It had a restoration done in 2002/03 but has spent a lot of nights outside since then. It looks great from a few feet away but it does have a few issues. Nothing major, just typical 45 year old car things. See the "condition description". But as my buddy said the other day "It Rides and Drives Like a Cadillac"! But seriously it does drive and ride good and cranks up every time. I made a 100 mile round trip in it a few weeks ago. The wife loves it but I have too many toys to keep it. It has black cloth seats that are in good shape (the previous owner said the leather was too hot). NOTE: This is a 45 year old car with a 12 year old restoration job. Looks good from several away, but does have a few rust bubbles on qtr panel and trunk lid. The vinyl top has a place where it has pulled loose on the back passenger side. The passenger fender, door and qtr panel looks to have been worked in the past. Convertible top is a little slow. Sounds like it has a manifold leak. What does not work; air conditioner, radio, power seats, fuel gauge, clock & I don't have a trunk key but the remote switch in the glove box works. This car does not have a title, Alabama does not require titles on cars of this age. Bill of sale only. Local pickup only. |

2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe
Thu, 30 Oct 2014Cadillac has become a very, very different company since the dawn of the new millenium. Its turn-of-the-century lineup, consisting of staid offerings like the Seville, DeVille and Eldorado, represented the Old Cadillac. These cars were plagued with Old GM quality issues and catered to a more elderly audience. Since the company's Art and Science design language arrived, though, we've seen Cadillac flesh out its lineup in a big way, introducing notable and (so far) enduring products, like the the CTS, SRX and most recently, the ATS.
With the CTS tackling the 5 Series segment and the SRX duking it out with the Lexus RX and its classmates, the ATS has been left with the tough task of battling the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, among others. Critically, at least, it has excelled in this role, but it's still working on finding its feet sales-wise. On paper, broadening the model range by adding a two-door personal luxury coupe could help.
After a week with the ATS Coupe, though, we've found a car that, while retaining the standard model's excellent driving character, doesn't quite offer enough visual excitement to stand up to other cars in its segment.
2014 Cadillac CTS starts $7k higher than last model at $46,025*
Thu, 13 Jun 2013The redesigned 2014 Cadillac CTS will be more powerful, stylish and luxurious than its predecessor, but it will also be much more expensive. With a new starting price of $46,025 (*including $925 for destination), the 2014 CTS represents a price increase of more than $7,000 compared to the 2013 model, but it should be more appropriately sized and equipped to take on rivals like the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which start at $47,800 and $51,900, respectively.
Available trim levels - referred to as Collections - include Luxury, Performance and Premium, offering either a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder or a 3.6-liter V6 and the choice of either rear- or all-wheel-drive configurations. For more performance, the all-new CTS Vsport model will have an asking price of $59,995. This 420-horsepower model is more powerful than both the BMW 550i and Mercedes E550 and about $2,000 less expensive than both.
There's still no word on what Cadillac has in store for a next-gen CTS-V sedan, but we're guessing power and price will both rise considerably. Scroll down for more info on the 2014 CTS that is set to go on sale this fall.
Weekly Recap: Auto execs face life in prison for recall delays under proposed legislation
Sat, 09 Aug 2014
The stiff punishments are part of broader transportation legislation, but clearly McCaskill has automakers in her sights.
Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill threw down the gauntlet this week, proposing a bill that could send auto executives to prison for life if they were found to have delayed a recall. She also wants to eliminate the limit for fines for auto safety violations, which are currently capped at $35 million.
