Up for auction is this 1960 Cadillac Sedan Deville Flat Roof. The car was fully equipped with air conditioning, power windows and seat, leather upholstery, autronic eye and signal seeking radio. She left the factory in monotone Persian Sand with gold and burgundy upholstery.

The car has been off the road since the 1980's and there is rust in all the usual places such as the qurter and fender bottom, floors, rockers, trunk floor, gas tank, and the trunk and hood lip. She is 90% complete, and as far as I can tell is missing only the hubcaps, two eyebrow moldings, the radiator and the a/c compressor. The fender skirts are in the car as are the autronic eye and some assorted trim pieces. We have not been able to get the trunk open yet so there may be more parts in there, if we get to it we'll open it and detail the contents on the auction. Two blasted and painted Cadillac wheels are included with this car as two of the wheels currently on the car are not correct.

This Deville could be restored but would probably serve a better purpose saving other Caddys. The bumper ends and the back window are very nice and are worth our starting bid by themselves. The flat glass and windshield are cracked and not useable. The trim and chrome are good and the grill is perfect. Save it or use it to save others. We will not part this car out, no exceptions.

The car will need to be trailered due to the bad tires, please bring a strong winch for loading as she is very heavy and we cannot assist!

This Cadillac is sold with NO RESERVE!

The other cars in the background are not for sale, please do not ask!

This car will be sold on a Bill of Sale as Alabama does not title any car built prior to 1975. If you live in a title state, you will need the services of a title company at your own expense. This car is sold as is where is, and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. A $300.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end. Full payment is due within 3 days. Buyer will have 30 days to remove the vehicle. I realize arranging shipping can be difficult and may take longer, communication is key.

Cadillac tipped to call flagship something other than LTS

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without large sedans in its lineup, and while the XTS has had to hold down that end of the fort all on its own, it won't have to for too long. That's because the luxury brand in the General Motors portfolio is preparing to roll out its new LTS, stylistically previewed by the Elmiraj concept pictured above. Only now, the latest thinking is that the upcoming flagship model may not be called LTS at all.
As Automotive News points out, Cadillac's naming scheme is all over the place at the moment. The ATS slotting below the CTS makes sense (alphabetically), but where do the ELR, SRX and especially the Escalade fit into that naming hierarchy? And how would LTS - as the project has been known until now - sit above the XTS?
Fortunately, Cadillac may be on the case, as two of the division's most recent senior appointments seem keen to rationalize the naming scheme. One is Uwe Ellinghaus, who joined Cadillac as chief marketing officer late last year. Speaking of the brand's nomenclature last spring, Ellinghaus was quoted as saying, "We are aware that this is currently a weakness of the Cadillac brand." And his new boss is bound to agree.

Cadillac's Euro reboot may have implications for US models, sales

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Firmly on the comeback trail in the US, Cadillac is still trying to get out of the starting blocks in Europe. At the Geneva Motor Show in March, Cadillac' senior execs revealed plans to grow the brand's presence in a luxury market dominated by the big three German marques, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
GM President Dan Ammann says he sees "enormous" potential for Cadillac globally.
Over the past 20 years, the General Motors premium nameplate has tried and failed multiple times to break into the European market. This time around, Cadillac recognizes that progress will be modest at best, and depends on specific changes to models, some of which may impact the brand's US lineup. Planned new sales tactics in Europe may also impact the way Cadillac does business on this side of the pond.

Cadillac considering more electric cars, Elmiraj business case gaining popularity

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

Cadillac's electrification isn't likely to stop at the $76,000 ELR coupe, according a report from TheDetroitBureau.com. Speaking to Cadillac's global sales boss, Bob Ferguson, a successful ELR will likely lead to a larger, even more upscale offering than the Volt-based two-door. "I could certainly see a larger vehicle, something even more luxurious," Ferguson said of a potential second, battery-powered Caddy.
That car would likely boast a more potent version of the Voltec powertrain that motivates the Volt and ELR. This next-generation system is still sometime off, though, and won't likely arrive until the second-generation Volt hits the market.
Besides hinting at future plug-in hybrids, Ferguson spoke to TDB about the improving business case for the Elmiraj Concept, shown at the Pebble Beach Concours in Monterey in August. "I'm very excited about the reception for the Elmiraj," Ferguson said. "I'd like to see it in showrooms as soon as possible," he added, before saying that a business case for the production version of the big coupe still needed to be presented to the brass. "It was made to be operationalized," Ferguson added, which is just what we want to hear when it comes to big, flashy concept cars.
