1949 Cadillac Convertible on 2040-cars
Clinton Township, Michigan, United States
Mileage: 123
Model: DeVille
1949 Cadillac Convertible Project. While I was working on the car, the body was removed from the frame. The frame is excellent - straight with no rust. The frame has been cleaned and painted. The body has been entirely dis-assembled, media blasted and etch primed. The floor pan had some rust. A large portion of the floor has been professionally replaced. Another portion of the floor pan needs to be replaced. The hood, trunk, fenders and doors are solid. The car has been re-assembled as shown in the pictures.
The interior is in nice condition and burgundy in color. The doors panels are in good shape and covered with the same materlial as the seats. The dashboard and gauges are in great shape. The car comes with convertible top bows, side glass, windshield glass, steering column, and tail lamps. I don't have the bumpers or grille and not much more than the items I've listed or pictured. I do have the fender skirts. No engine or transmission.
The car is being sold with a Bill of Sale only. NO TITLE. This would make an excellent resto-mod, rat rod, street rod or original, whatever you choose.
The car is offered for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Call 248-720-9236 with questions.

C7 Corvette won't spawn new Cadillac XLR [w/video]
Fri, 23 Aug 2013Between the new 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray and the even newer Cadillac Elmiraj Concept shown off at Pebble Beach, we were already expecting some sort of chatter of a Cadillac XLR redux. During an in-depth C7 Corvette discussion with Tadge Juechter, the car's chief engineer, Fox News asked if a Corvette-based, Bowling Green-built Cadillac will be built off the C7. Non-spoiler alert: the answer is no.
Juechter says that General Motors has "no intent" on transforming this car into a Cadillac product since the C7 has been optimized for the Corvette buyer, a consumer that's generally a different sort of person than a Cadillac intender who might also be cross-shopping a Mercedes-Benz SL-Class or BMW 6 Series.
While we're not ready to write off a future XLR altogether, we assume that the Corvette Cadillac experiment is most likely never going to happen again. The interview with Juechter is posted below, but the XLR discussion comes in at the 9:00 mark.
Akerson says Cadillac will get a larger sedan within two years
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It seems that during a recent affair showing off the 2014 Cadillac CTS, General Motors CEO Dan Akerson confirmed reports regarding a new Cadillac flagship sedan. According to USA Today, which Akerson was visiting, he said that a sedan larger than the XTS would debut within the next two years.
This matches up with what we heard earlier in the month about a Cadillac model that will go up against the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class (not a pricier, low-volume sedan also discussed in that article). But this is the first time a high-profile executive name has been attributed to such a report, and the first time a broad timeframe has been mentioned. This article adds that the unnamed car will be rear-, and all-wheel drive with a platform "loosely based" on the new CTS, with styling closer to that car than recent Cadillac concept vehicles. The XTS will continue production of course, as well.
2014 Cadillac CTS
Tue, 24 Sep 2013Fixated By Europeans, GM Ensures The Third Time Is A Charm
Few things are better for consumers than competition raising the bar. And no campaign seems fiercer than the one currently underway in the midsize sport-sedan segment now that Cadillac has introduced its all-new 2014 CTS to go head-to-head against the benchmark Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
While the CTS has been on the market for slightly more than a decade, up until this third-generation, Cadillac hasn't truly had the proper high-performance rear-wheel-drive architecture to build a genuine world-class fighter, both inside and out. And now that the American automaker has successfully mirrored Audi, BMW and Mercedes in overall vehicle size, engine output and cabin appointments, the first shots have been fired.
