1947 Cadillac Other on 2040-cars
Westport, Pennsylvania, United States
Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : charlettecggrebner@highsociety.org .
Up for sale is my 1947 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible as shown. Runs and drives very well. Car is very solid and
straight. No bondo on this car. Paint is about what they call a "10 footer". Does have several cracks and chips
with some minor scratches. No dents or repairs. There is very little rust on this car. Has been garaged always
since at least 1961. Only very minor surface rust in some locations. No rot anywhere. Under car is very nice.
Convertible top was replaced about 25 years ago and is in excellent condition. Also in very good working order.
Interior of car is overall good. Dash and seats are very nice. Carpet is decent but door panels could definitely
use some attention. Car also comes with a ton of extra parts including the following. 4 new still wrapped tires
with new tubes, 4 new full wheel covers with crest, extra transmission (nothing wrong with one in the car), 1 extra
water pump, 1 extra carburetor, 1 extra generator and 1 extra starter. Also included is the external spotlight for
the A pillar. Okay now for a few negatives. Radio and power antenna are not working. Also has a minor oil leak when
turning car off after driving(Less than the size of a paper plate spread out on cardboard, maybe 8 or 10 drops).

Cadillac could 'flourish' in Australia, says marketing chief
Thu, 13 Mar 2014Cadillac might have its best product mix in recent history, and GM's luxury brand is looking to expand. In fact, it might even be making a trip Down Under, at least according to the company's global marketing chief.
Uwe Ellinghaus spoke with Australian site Car Advice at the Geneva Motor Show and said the brand could be quite successful there. "[The] goodwill that the Cadillac brand has is such a good starting base that once we get proper volume commitment and a dealer network behind it we can easily flourish," he said, though he warned that the plans are still in their earliest stages and years away. First, Cadillac will expand in markets with the highest possible sales, like China and Russia.
Ellinghaus said that the most likely models for Oz would be the SRX, Escalade and CTS; the latter would probably act as a replacement for the Holden Commodore. GM's Australian arm is ending local production in 2017, and there have been many rumors about what is happening to the big sedan. However, Ellinghaus admits exporting cars from the US to Australia is going to mean higher prices. In addition to the expense, Cadillac doesn't currently build any right-hand-drive models. It would likely take until the end of the decade before the Aussie models could be ready.
Cadillac's Butler announces surprise departure
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Cadillac's vice president of global strategic development, Don Butler, has resigned. Butler has held the position since April, after a term as vice president of US marketing for General Motor's luxury brand.
As the report explains, the timing here is pretty unfortunate for Cadillac. Butler is the third high-profile member of Cadillac's brass to depart in recent months, following the firing of US sales boss Chase Hawkins and the pending departure of Susan Docherty. Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell told the Detroit paper, "Bob [Ferguson]," global boss for Cadillac, "and other leaders asked him to stay on. Don's here in the office today - and told our team that his decision is purely on a personal level. After three years of putting everything into Cadillac, he is stepping away for some personal time, and to consider new avenues in his life."
Butler says his decision is part of a decision to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities." Whatever the reason, it's an unpleasant surprise for Cadillac, which has been on a surge in 2013, with 30-percent jump in sales on the heels of the hot-selling ATS.
Cadillac ATS Coupe headed for Detroit reveal
Mon, 25 Nov 2013Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without its two-door models. But the XLR has been discontinued for over four years now, the Elmiraj concept may never see production and the future of the CTS Coupe is still up in the air. That leaves just the ELR, which may not be conventional enough for traditional Cadillac coupe buyers. Fortunately a new coupe is coming along to fill the void.
According to Edmunds, Cadillac will reveal the new ATS coupe just a couple of months from now at the Detroit Auto Show. Expected to mechanically mirror the existing ATS sedan, the new coupe will also more conventionally resemble its four-door counterpart than the CTS, whose coupe version was distinguished by a rakishly sloping roofline.
Expect the same choice of engines to carry over, with a 2.5-liter four serving as the base engine, and both a 2.0-liter turbo four and a 3.6-liter V6 offering more power for those looking for that extra bit of oomph. Following the Detroit reveal, sources anticipate the ATS coupe to go on sale next summer.
