Up for aution is a 1987 Cadillac Allante in good condition for a parts car or a good candidate for a restoration. I am willing to sell the Allante car with or without the hardtop. Hardtops were an option and are sought after by Allante owners. There is also a great Allante Club available with great information. This vehicle was owned by a mechanic from Dallas and was from the Arizona area. It is a straight vehicle with a few minor changes by the Dallas mechanic. He re-upholsted the seats and some electronics. This was his daily driver. It ran when I parked it and has been under cover in storage through December of 2012. The body is straight with no damage. I purchased this car to use the body on my 1992 Allante that was in an accident with a semi truck. I never got to the project and have purchased a 1993 Allante. The reason for selling is I am running out of storage and need the space for other vehicles. This vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty. Please feel free to ask any questions. Buyer is responsible to pick up the car or arrange shipping. I am selling this vehicle locally and will stop the auction if I sell the Allante.

GM laying off 510 amidst slow Cadillac, small car sales
Wed, 12 Nov 2014General Motors is laying off about 510 workers from two factories beginning in January, and it could be months before the automaker needs some of that latent capacity to come back on line. A combination of poor sales and high dealer inventories are prompting the cutbacks, according to Automotive News.
The largest changes come at GM's Lansing Grand River plant, where the Cadillac ATS and CTS are made. An entire shift of about 350 workers is being laid off, but the automaker hopes to find positions for some of them at other nearby factories. The decision leaves just a single shift building vehicles there. According to Automotive News, the move is partially spurred by Johan de Nysschen's plan to make Cadillac a more exclusive brand.
The lost shift will likely return for production of the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro at the plant, according to the report, but GM isn't saying when that will be. A previous announcement from the Canadian Auto Workers union indicated that the Oshawa, Ontario, factory would lose the coupe in late 2015 or early 2016.
2014 Cadillac ELR wears a suave suit with Volt underpants
Tue, 15 Jan 2013The Cadillac design and engineering teams were smiling like a bunch of proud papas here in Detroit this morning, as the Wreath and Crest crew pulled the curtain back on their 2014 ELR. The house was packed for the ELR's coming out party, and reaction was enthusiastic amongst the murmuring media, as far as we could gather, while the flashes were firing.
In fact, we think that the sleek styling and aggressive proportions of the Voltec-powered ELR looked even better in the metal than they did in the first official images we saw earlier. Further, the leather-lined interior seems custom made for serious driving, even if the ELR is slightly less than rocket-ship quick.
The new Cadillac makes good use of the basic running gear from the Chevrolet Volt, including the 1.4-liter range-extending gas engine, a 15.6-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and an electric drive motor that offers 295 pound-feet of torque, and a total system output of 207 horsepower. All-electric range is down by just one mile versus its Chevrolet forebearer, for a total of 35, and Cadillac speculates that the total range with the gasoline generator figured in will top 300 miles.
