We have decided to let go of this soon to be classic, so that we can focus on our restorations of 1970s Cadillacs.

This is a nice car and has the bonus of including the original convertible hardtop.

The original leather seats show some wear, as do most of these cars.

The car was recently serviced and a new fuel pump was added

1003++ miles,

It has been driven some since the photos of the odometer.

Some information from the web…

The Allant? was refined for 1989 by virtue of a larger 4.5 liter port fuel injection engine that provided increased power and improved performance. With 10 percent greater displacement, new low-restriction exhaust manifolds and improved flow air cleaner, the Allant?'s engine had a 17 percent increase in horsepower and a 13 percent increase in torque. Its 0-60 mph time was improved from 9.5 to 8.3 seconds. Performance from 40 to 80 mph progressed from 12.3 to 10.3 sec. The Allant?'s top speed increased from 125 to 135 mph. Cadillac prices 410-hp XTS Vsport from $63,020*

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Cadillac has officially released pricing for the 2014 XTS Vsport. Buyers can expect to pay $63,020 for the fleet four-door, including destination and handling fees. That kind of coin will snag you a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 good for 410 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. As you likely already know, engineers have done a lot more than simply bolt a pair of turbos onto the company's tried and true naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6. The engine uses an all-new block, strengthened connecting rods and domed aluminum pistons and is fed through a revised direct-injection fuel system. Combined, the tweaks allow the V6 to suck down 12 psi of boost.
The price tag puts the 2014 Cadillac XTS Vsport well under potential (if ambitious) competitors like the Audi S6 at $71,900, plus destination fees. A base BMW 550i will set you back $62,700, excluding destination charges, but throwing options at the German sedan will quickly see that number climb higher. You can check out the full press release below for more information.

Cadillac CTS wins 2014 Motor Trend Car of the Year [w/video]

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

For the second time, the Cadillac CTS has been named Motor Trend's Car of the Year. After winning the COTY crown for 2008, the new-for-2014 CTS outdid the other two finalists for Car of the Year honors, the Mazda3 and its corporate cousin, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
What's notable about the Caddy's victory, though, is how it simply brushed off its competition. Both the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series failed to make the finalist's bracket, leaving the CTS to claim victory. "It had to beat [Mercedes and BMW] on style, on performance, on comfort, and on quality. It has," Motor Trend said in its COTY recap for the CTS.
The team at Motor Trend praised the CTS chassis, calling it "fantastic," and citing weight advantage the Caddy has over the competition. There was also praise heaped on the car's engines, with the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder getting nods of approval from the MT team. The team also raved about the VSport model and its twin-turbocharged V6, magnetic shocks and other performance accoutrements.

Johan responds to critics again about Cadillac's NY move

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

Cadillac's new President Johan de Nysschen has faced a fair amount of criticism since assuming his position at the head of the American luxury manufacturer. From the company's move to New York City to a controversial new naming scheme, the first few months of his tenure have not been smooth sailing. Now, the embattled exec is firing back against his critics, notably Automotive News Editor-in-Chief Keith Crain, in a new column running in AN.
De Nysschen countered Crain's claim that the move to the Big Apple, "can only mean that someone wants to live in New York."
"The relocation decision is entirely unrelated to the personal living preferences of any Cadillac executive. No corporation would tolerate such indulgence by its leadership," de Nysschen wrote. "It is about structurally entrenching a challenge to the status quo by reinforcing the psychological and physical separation in business philosophy between the mainstream brands and GM's luxury brand."
