1993 Cadillac Allante Base Convertible 2-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Tampa, Florida, United States
Up for auction is a two owner 1993 Cadillac Allante with less than 67K miles on it. This car is in excellent condition. Like new outside fire mist red paint , gorgeous tan interior - best color combination in a convertible. Looks like new considering it is 21 years young. 1993 Cadillac Allante, last year of production, only year with Northstar Engine. Cadillac built the Allante from 1987 thru 1993 and the last and final year is the only year with the North Star Engine, front wheel drive and tons of power. This is a two seater vehicle and it is all engine! Very powerful. This Allante was originally a Califonia Car, then was purchased in 2008 by second owner in Utah. It has 66,700 miles and everything on this vehicle works perfectly with no engine problems, no messages. I have owned ten Allantes over the years and this one is one of the nicest. It has trouble free Analog display. New brake pads, no fault messages, no lights on. Runs and drives perfect. Oil just changed, AC blows perfectly Ice Cold. I bought this vehicle for my girl and it is too fast for her. Exterior is literally like new - paint is absolutely stunning and perfect. NO DINGS, NO DENTS, NO SCRATCHES ANYWHERE ON PAINT. PAINT IS PERFECT ON EVERY PANEL. This car has a perfect factory correct Fire Mist Red Metalic paint. The right rear passenger tail light has a crack in the plastic cover. There are two new tail lights that will be in the trunk ($200 each) I don't think the passenger side crack in the plastic is noticeble so I never changed it but you can if you want. A used but nice tail light set is included with the car in the trunk when you buy it. You can also get the crack fixed and sell the extra set if you want. Mechanically she is perfect and performs like new. This car is fast with the North Star V-8 32 Valve. Awesome reliable engine. Interior of this convertible looks new, door panels are excellent, seats are perfect NO RIPS OR TEARS NO WEAR ANYWHERE. I replaced the leather on seats so they are brand new with no wear, and I installed brand new medium tan carpet. Dash has some sun wear. The defrost grille has a crack in it. Not noticeable. Due to sun. Vehicle comes with service manuals, and an extra window motor that was in the trunk when I bought it, extra set of tail lights in the trunk also and a hard top that is red if you want it but a year older than this car. I had it from a 92 I owned 5 years ago and never used it. I can install it and ship it on the car if you want. This top is worth about $800. This vehicle is In excellent condition in and out. No disappointments, feel free to have it inspected prior if you like or if you need more pictures I will send. Has the original convertible top and headliner, only wear is some sunfading on the dash I would buy a dash pad to cover. Tires are all like new Vogue tires and Cadillac chrome rims are in excellent condition with no wear. Exterior is like factory new. No dings, dents or scratches. All emblems like new. Interior smells and looks new. The in dash CD does not work, they cost about $400 to send out and refix and not worth it. As I siad I will also include a hard top that is red but not a perfect match at no charge but nice to have. You will not find an Allante with all this in this condition for this kind of price. Please ask any questions by email.

GM moving international sales HQ to Singapore from Shanghai
Wed, 13 Nov 2013General Motors has announced that it will be moving its international headquarters from Shanghai to Singapore, a move that will see 120 employees working from the city-state by the time business opens in 2014. Meanwhile, 250 to 300 of the employees at the Shanghai office will remain in China, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
The shuffle is part of a bigger reorganization that will see GM isolate its operations in the People's Republic from its broader international efforts. This sort of divide-and-conquer strategy will allow GM to still react to emerging markets while, according to the WSJ, providing a dedicated management team for the Chinese market. The team in Singapore will be responsible for operations in Africa, southeast Asia, Australia, India, South Korea and the Middle East, on top of managing Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe, according to a statement from GM.
The shift to Singapore "will help us to create a renewed identity for CIO (Consolidated International Operations) and lead GM's umbrella strategy for the region," said GM Executive Vice President of CIO, Stefan Jacoby.
SRX-replacing Cadillac XT5 spied for the very first time
Thu, 30 Oct 2014Cadillac has got big plans in place to revitalize its lineup, with new sedans, coupes and crossovers. And it all starts with this, the replacement for the SRX.
Expected to be called XT5 in line with the brand's new naming scheme, the crossover will be based on a scalable new platform called C1XX - or Chi, for short. In its shorter form, Chi is anticipated to underpin the XT5 as well as a new Chevy crossover and the next-gen GMC Acadia. In long-wheelbase form, the platform is slated to give us a larger Cadillac crossover as well as a new Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse.
Power in the XT5 will be provided by a choice of turbo four or atmospheric six, potentially to be transmitted through GM's new nine-speed automatic.
Cadillac to launch Super Cruise semi-autonomous technology in two years [w/video]
Sun, 07 Sep 2014We all know that self-driving cars are coming. It's not so much a question of If so much as When. And when it comes to General Motors products, we now have something of a date to work with, as Cadillac has announced plans to roll out what it is calling Super Cruise technology in an unnamed new model within the next two years. As you would expect, this new tech can speed the car up, slow it down and keep it in its intended lane, but GM isn't expected to release a fully self-driving car, saying that it will still require "an attentive driver."
We're not quite sure what new model Cadillac will use to launch this new technology, but our best guess would be its upcoming LTS sedan. Other possibilities may include a new crossover - we've heard rumors of CUVS coming from Caddy both above and below the current SRX - or entry-level sedan, but those seem less likely than a high-dollar flagship like the LTS.
The next techy bit of kit currently being shown off by Cadillac engineers includes vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, technology which would seemingly allow cars to travel in close proximity to one another, with less danger of collisions. According to our friends at Engadget, GM is working with the University of Michigan to outfit some 120 miles of roads in and around Detroit, MI, with the requisite sensors to make all this technology possible.
