Soft top has 2-3" tear on inside canvass in upper rear passenger corner apparently from folding mechanism. The rear top latching mechanism is hard to adjust and currently doesn't pull down the top all the way"

This is my wife's car.

She had always wanted an Allante and loved driving it, but she now prefers to sit up high and drive her Range Rover instead. So, we are selling it.
It has 69,000 miles and it runs, stops and drives perfectly.
Soft top and hard top included.
Everything electrical and mechanical works and it is a powerful performer.
Leather seats, excellent heating and air conditioning, solid suspension, cruise, good tires, power windows/door locks, Driver Information Center (showing "no faults/trouble) - it is a lot of car for the money and since only 21,000 were produced during its 5 year production run it is becoming more rare and eventually more valuable.
Cadillac mechanicals with Italian (Pininfarina) interior and body. GM actually flew the chassis to Italy in specially modified Boeing 747s where Pininfarina built and attached the body and interior. Then they flew the cars home where GM installed the engines.
A good combination of American mechanical expertise and reasonable cost parts availability with Italian design flair.
This is a fun car to drive - especially with the top off and it is a great road car for long trips.
Interior is in very good condition and appears to be original. Original spare and tools in the trunk
I replaced the rear soft/hard top latching mechanism (it pulls the top down like the trunk mechanism does) but it is tricky to align and I have not been successful at getting it to work consistently. A good mechanic or someone more talented than I should be able to get it latching each time.

2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe prepares to fight BMW 4 Series

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Cadillac introduced its new ATS Coupe at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show today, bringing customers an alternative to the growing range of sport luxury coupes typified by the BMW 4 Series, Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe.
The ATS Coupe, as a slightly more premium offering, ditches the wheezy 2.5-liter engine found in the basic ATS Sedan, but retains the four-door's 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder and 3.6-liter V6. That four-pot turbo benefits from a fettling that has increased torque from 260 pound-feet to 295, although its peak is only available from 3,000 rpm to 4,600 rpm, unlike in the sedan, where peak twist arrives at just 1,700 rpm and sticks around until 5,500 rpm.
Power can be channeled to either the rear or all four wheels by the owner's choice of a Tremec six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. According to Cadillac, the new Coupe can get to 60 in 5.6 seconds when fitted with the 2.0-liter turbo.

Cadillac to bolster CT sedans with XT crossovers

Wed, 01 Oct 2014

Cadillac is moving swiftly to change up its naming scheme. Barely over a week ago we received our first indication that it was considering a different name its the upcoming flagship sedan previously known as LTS. Then Cadillac not only revealed the model would be called CT6, but announced that it would set the stage with a massive overhaul of its model nomenclature. And now we have another piece of the puzzle.
According to Forbes, Cadillac will not only rename its sedans with the letters CT, but will realign its utility vehicles under the banner of XT - both to be followed by a number indicating its place in the lineup. The one exception will be the Escalade, whose nameplate has such a strong following that it would be foolish for Cadillac to cast it aside. That leaves only the SRX (pictured above), but makes room for a new crop of crossovers said to be in the works.
It's a similar approach which Cadillac's new boss Johan de Nysschen took in revising the naming scheme at Infiniti. While it's bound to ruffle some feathers and scratch some heads in the beginning - especially since the company's current flagship sedan is called XTS - it's equally sure to make sense of it all in the long run. All we need to know now is what Nysschen and his marketing chief Uwe Ellinghaus plan to call the coupes.

Cadillac flagship, possible production Elimiraj, caught testing

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

One of the biggest debuts at the Monterey car week, both literally and figuratively, was the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept. The massive coupe made quite a splash with the show's well-heeled guests. Now, we have what might be the very first images of the Elmiraj, or whatever it may be called when it reaches production, out testing.
Don't let that modified Chevrolet Caprice body fool you, this car is about four to six inches longer than Chevy's US-spec cop car, from the A-pillar forward. According to our spy, with the Caprice at 203 inches and the concept at 205, adding a few extra inches here and there fits the bill for the four-door Elmiraj that was hinted at in Jay Leno's Garage.
There are a number of other classic mule signs on this car, including a cover over the fuel door and heavily modified front and rear fascias, each of which serves to hide some significant change from the standard Caprice. Using a Caprice for development also, hopefully, hints at something that big Cadillacs like the XTS have lacked - rear-wheel drive.
