1972 Buick Skylark 350 5.7l on 2040-cars
Winthrop, Iowa, United States
Up for sale is a good running 1972 Buick Skylark 350 Suncoupe. It has the Buick 350 and a TH350 auto trans. It has the Suncoupe package which is the manual sliding sunroof available only in 1972. The car runs and drives fine. My wife and I have been on several 200-300 mile day trips in it. It is a good running old car.
New parts that I have installed: -Radiator -Alternator -Upgraded points to Pertronix electronic ignition -New aluminum slots with Firestone Firehawk tires 15x7 fronts with 215/65/15 tires. 15x8 rears with 275/60/15 tires -All new 2 1/2" manifold back exhaust with glasspack mufflers and stainless tips -New brakes and drums -New shocks all around and new rear springs -All new steering components (Tie rods, Pitman arm, Tie rod ends, Ball joints, Sway bar links.) -All lights work. A few minor problems: -The wipers and blower motor do not work. (We never drove it in the rain or winter) -The trans leaks oil. (not a bunch, but it leaves a spot on the floor) Overall this is a good driving, nice riding old car. I have had it for 4 years now and enjoyed it much. We had a baby this year and do not foresee much cruising in our future this summer. Thanks for looking. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. |

Next Buick Regal to inherit styling cues from Opel Monza concept
Mon, 06 Oct 2014Ever look at a concept car from a foreign auto marque like Opel and wonder what relevance it will have to you as an American consumer? Well, we'll tell you: at least as far as the Opel Monza concept goes, it could mean a lot.
Speaking with Automotive News at the Paris Motor Show, Opel chief Karl-Thomas Neumann said, "You will see the Monza when you see the next Insignia." And the Insignia, we needn't point out, is essentially ported over to American showrooms as the Buick Regal.
The relationship between the Regal and Insignia only stands to grow closer as Opel design chief Mark Adams has also been charged with tightening the bonds between the two automakers positioned on opposite shores of the Atlantic. Adams also intends to imbue the next Insignia with more "premium brand values" in order to "add polish to the brand." Which in turn means that the Regal will be designed to look more upscale, too.
Updated Buick LaCrosse, Regal to debut at New York Auto Show
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Judging by the spy shots we saw last week for the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and 2014 Buick Regal, we knew it wouldn't be much longer until we saw both sedans receive a grand debut. Today, Buick confirmed to Autoblog both cars will be introduced at the New York Auto Show next month, but no further information has yet been released about either model.
Having been on the market for an extra couple years, the changes to the LaCrosse appear to be more significant than those coming for the Regal, but both will be getting refreshed exterior designs as well as updated interiors. The Regal's new face brings it more in line with the all-new Encore and the restyled Enclave, while the LaCrosse should get a more distinctive, upscale appearance.
Both cars will be introduced exactly a month from today, and we'll be there to bring you all the coverage.
The importance of Angel Eyes, Ventiports and four round taillights
Sun, 01 Sep 2013Just the other day, we told you about how Lincoln isn't really a luxury brand, according to Ford's head design man, J Mays. His argument was that Lincoln lacked the unique DNA to differentiate it from the rest of the market, although the arrival of the MKZ is beginning to change that. Now, we have this video from Autoline Detroit, where Jim Hall, an analyst for 2953 Analytics who was quoted in yesterday's Lincoln story, explains the influence of certain styling cues and how they impact the brands.
Using BMW (Angel Eyes) and Buick (Ventiports) as examples for small, simple touches that serve to distinguish the brand's vehicles on the road, Hall then points out how changing trademark styling features, as Chevrolet has done on the new Corvette Stingray, can hurt the vehicle's public perception. Take a look at the full video below for an interesting dive into what these styling features mean to their individual brands.
