THIS 1970 BUICK SKYLARK CONVERTIBLE HAS 67111 ORIGINAL MILES, THE BUICK WAS ORIGINALLY FROM CALIFORNIA, AND CAME TO EAST IN 1998 TO A GENTLEMAN IN CONN., THAT DID NUMEROUS HOURS OF WORKED ON THE SKYLARK CONVERTIBLE. (DOCUMENTED IN A LOG, THAT IS PART OF THE DOCUMENTATION). THE CAR WAS THAN SOLD TO A GENTLEMAN IN LANGHORE PA. , WHICH OWNED IT FOR 9 YEARS, AND HE ALSO WORKED ON THE CAR FOR ALL THE NINE YEARS, TO GET IT TO ITS PRESENT CONDITION. THE CAR HAD 55K ON IT WHEN RECIEVED IN CONN., AND 61K WHEN RECIEVED IN LANGHORE PA. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 67K.
I WILL TRY TO DESCRIBE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE ABOUT THE BUICK. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS NEW, THE PAINT JOB IS NEW, THE INTERIOR IS NEW, THE FRONT AND BACK BUMPERS ARE NEW, THE MOTOR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, (RUNS PERFECT), THE TRANSMISSION WAS RENCENTLY REBUILT, RUNS GREAT. THE COMPLETE SUSPENSION HAS BEEN REBUILT. THE MOTOR WAS REMOVED FROM THE CAR, TO DO SOME WORK ON IT, AND TO DETAIL THIS AREA. THE TIRES AND WHEELS ARE LIKE NEW, THE BUICK HAS NEW EXHAUST, WITH A VERY NICE SOUND. THE CAR HAS LARGE FRONT SWAY BAR AND STANDARD REAR SWAY BAR, BORROWED FROM A CHEVELLE. ALL BUSHING REPLACED. THE FLOORS ARE ROCK SOLID, ALONG WITH FRAME, AND UNDERCARRIAGE. THE CARPETING IN THE CAR IS PERFECT. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP MECHANISMS ARE NEW , AND ALL FRAMING REBUILT. THE LIST OF PARTS REPLACED ON THE CAR FROM INTERIOR, TO EXTERIOR ARE ENDLESS, FROM ALL DASH PARTS, TOO ALL OUTSIDE MOLDINGS ETC.
NOW FOR THE BAD PARTS, THE HOOD NEEDS REALIGNMENTjUST DRIVER SIDE, YOU CAN SEE IN PICTURES), THE PAINT HAS THREE FLAW, WHICH MOST PEOPLE WOULD NEVER SEE.
OVERALL, I THINK THIS IS THE NICEST 1970 CONVERTIBLE ON EBAY, ITS RUNS PERFECT, AND LOOKS LIKE A SHOW CAR, TOP TO BOTTOM. THIS CAR IS A TURNKEY OPREATION. NEEDS NOTHING. GM recalling 2013 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX over transmission software
Thu, 21 Mar 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued recalls for the 2013 Buick LaCrosse and 2013 Cadillac SRX due to a problem with the software for the transmission controller. On about 27,000 SRX and LaCrosse models, the transmission could accidentally be shifted to Sport mode, which would reduce the amount of engine braking drivers experience.
NHTSA says this could increase the risk of a crash, but, fortunately, the required fix is simply an update to the software.
While we're on the subject of General Motors vehicle recalls, a small number (48) of compressed natural gas versions of the 2011 Chevrolet Express are also being recalled for a potential risk of fire or explosion. Yikes. Both official recall notices are posted below.
38k GM eAssist hybrids recalled for circuit board, fire risk
Mon, 06 May 2013General Motors has issued a recall covering 38,197 2012 and 2013 model-year Chevy Malibu Eco, Buick LaCrosse and Regal sedans equipped with eAssist, and sold in the United States. The automaker will check the generator control module for proper operation. Only vehicles built before December 2012 are being recalled.
According to the automaker, a malfunctioning generator control module could slowly drain the battery, causing an indicator to light up in the dash. If that indicator is ignored, the driver may experience a stalling engine, and in some cases, "a burning or melting odor, smoke, and, in rare instances, a fire in the trunk."
GM says the issue is not with the eAssist battery pack; the smoke and fire comes from overheating of the control board. One trunk fire has been reported, but no injuries are known. Scroll down below for the official press release from GM.
OnStar RemoteLink mobile app coming standard on all new GM vehicles
Thu, 06 Jun 2013As an evolution and improvement of its OnStar technology, General Motors has announced that it will be expanding the RemoteLink Mobile App on most 2014 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new, aptly named RemoteLink Key Fob Services will allow users to remotely operate all of the same systems as the car's key fob, including locking and unlocking the doors and remote starting (on vehicles equipped with a factory remote starter) using a smartphone.
These Key Fob Services will be free for five years - starting from the vehicle's delivery date - but the full suite of RemoteLink features will continue to be offered only with a subscription (trial or paid). These premium features include contacting a live adviser, getting turn-by-turn directions and remotely monitoring the vehicle's diagnostic systems.
