1955 Buick Roadmaster on 2040-cars

US $16,000.00
Year:1955 Mileage:75000
Location:

Round Lake, Illinois, United States

Round Lake, Illinois, United States

Up for auction at this time is a pretty-well restored 55 Buick Roadmaster.  Within the last year, the car has had a "body-off" paint job, including frame and chassis paint. Car was relatively rust free and straight to begin with, so the super shiny Raven Black paint will not disappoint prospective buyers by revealing any major flaws. Car is owned by local body shop owner, who will entertain the idea of two-toning paint per buyer's wishes. Engine is a totally FRESH 1972 350 Buick, originally from a GS 350, according to the casting number. Engine is .030 over, with a mild Comp Cam, and stock Quadrajet, point ignition, etc. Trans is fresh TH 350, no shift kit, nothing fancy.  Rear axle assembly has been updated to a GM 10 bolt.  Not sure if it's a posi, or what the ratio is.

All machine work on engine performed by local reputable machine shop.  Have ALL receipts. Engine/cam has been run the prescribed 30 minutes at 2000 rpm to ensure good cam "break-in."  Upon completion of break-in run, oil change was performed.  Engine maintains 55 PSI oil pressure at +/- 180' temp.  Radiator was flushed and checked by local shop, new thermostatically controlled fan seldom runs. Brand new Quadrajet, plugs, wires, and other ignition parts were installed.  Car starts and runs EXTREMELY well....nice driver.   Power steering and brakes are functional.

So much for all the good news.  This vehicle is still a "work in progress."  The car is inneed of a little TLC by a loving owner.  Nothing serious...little bit of power window tweaking, interior clean-up, etc.

The current owner "inherited this classic  from a customer who decided that he could not afford to pay for the body/ paint work only after it was DONE!  In the meantime, the engine had been delivered to my shop, where work had already begun. Long story short, the current owner has approx. $18,000.00 invested in the car, and would really like to sell it at this point since he really has no need/time for it.

Please direct any specific questions regarding body/paint work to Ray @ R & M AutoBody, Round Lake, IL.  His number is 847 546 4416.

Feel free to submit any questions regarding engine/trans work to this add, and I will answer all as accurately and expeditiously as possibe.

Thanks, for looking and Good Luck to all!!

Buick Riviera Concept debuts in China

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

It's nighttime in China, and Buick has just concluded an evening event the day before the first - and only - press day of the Shanghai Motor Show. The star of this evening's party was the Buick Riviera concept vehicle, a plug-in electric hybrid coupe that the automaker says gives a glimpse at its future design direction, not to mention resurrecting some nomenclature from the brand's history that includes a similarly named concept from 2007.
The shape of the Riviera is said to be inspired by water. While the traditional Buick "waterfall" grille is present, the front end gains a more aggressive note thanks to what appear to be vertical air inlets below each headlight.
As for the concept's drivetrain, Buick says it uses General Motors' new dual-mode wireless plug-in hybrid electric vehicle propulsion system, or W-PHEV for short. The keyword there is 'wireless,' as the Riviera can charge its onboard battery packs with a traditional cable or wirelessly via a "sensory recharge panel" underneath the car.

New Buick Verano testing in Germany

Thu, 29 May 2014

A refresh to Buick's popular Verano sedan appears to be nigh, thanks to these spy photos that show the tweaked four-door testing in Germany.
As with the current Verano, the refreshed model will have a great deal in common with its European platform-mates, the Vauxhall/Opel Astra. Each car rides on General Motors's Delta II platform. Unlike the current car, though, the refreshed model's styling could lean more heavily towards its European roots, if these photos are any indication.
Despite its commonality with the Astra Sedan, the Verano has featured its own unique styling since arriving in the US back in 2011 as a 2012 model, with distinct fascias at both the front and back, as wells its own headlight and taillight designs. The two cars were still rebadged vehicles, but it was more subtle than it will be in 2015, when the refreshed Verano arrives. Astra-like elements are expected to dominate, particularly in regards to the headlights and taillights. That said, trademark Buick styling features will remain, like the waterfall grille. Really, then, the 2016 Verano won't be unlike the Regal - a rebadged Vauxhall/Opel Insignia, aside from a few very small styling details.

Buick to add more GS models?

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

Buick may not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of performance automobiles, but fans of the brand know what letters to look for. If you believe the reports, there's a new GNX and Grand National on the way, but in the meantime, Buick may offer more GS models to fill the void.
Currently, the Regal is the only model available as a GS (pictured above), packing the same 259-horsepower turbo four as the Regal Turbo but enhanced with key suspension, brakes and rolling-stock upgrades. As Car and Driver notes, similar upgrades could easily be applied to the Verano and LaCrosse, although maybe not the Encore or Enclave crossovers. Of course, Buick would still have to steer clear of Cadillac's Vsport line, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a little room to play.
