1985 Riviera One Owner 20,868 Miles on 2040-cars
Wallkill, New York, United States
I purchased this car from an estate in balmville. This was an elderly woman's car that was the original owner. The car is in very good condition but is going to need some attention because it has been off the road since 2008-I took the car home gave it a quick bath, put in a battery and it lit right off.The car runs like a top, I took it down the road and it runs/shifts/ goes down the road nice. Now for preventive maintenance If I were to keep this car I would change all the fluids/belts/hoses/check the brakes/brake hoses/lines etc etc-the car has had some paint work on the hood from a tree limb and all the bumper fillers need to be replaced. The tires appear original and should be replaced. The interior is perfect with the leather still soft- no rips-no tears-no wear spots-no dash cracks-no splits on the steering wheel-the car of course is fully loaded and all options work but the A.C is still R12 and needs to be converted to 134a and needs to be recharged. The engine is the 307 V8. The original owner purchased this car when she was in her early 60's-This is the car that we all heard about that was only used on sundays to go to church. I should have the title in about 2 weeks so a small deposit will hold it until we complete the transaction when the title arrives-This will give you time to locate a dependable/reasonable shipper. I will store the car indoors in the meantime. call Steve at 845-863-6327 with your questions. I will only accept paypal for the deposit.

2014 Buick LaCrosse
Wed, 24 Jul 2013A Nice, New Buick Aims For Middle Of The Road
Any time someone describes some portion of a car or a driving experience as being "nice," I want to either A) throttle them or B) run as fast and as far as I can from that vehicle. "Nice" is among the most insidious words in the English language - at best it's vague, and at worst, it conveys the exact opposite of its literal meaning. Yet it seems to be used with damnable frequency when it comes to verbally illustrating vehicles. "It looks really nice," or "These seats feel nice," or, heaven forefend, "It's got a nice ride," are all windy signifiers of absolutely nothing resembling a concrete opinion. "Nice" is the adjectival equivalent of meekly smiling and nodding your head.
Of course, I'm as guilty as the next person of having thrown English's least powerful descriptor around. There's even a chance that, rant aside, you'll catch me making nice in reviews to come. That's fine, but you should know that when you stumble upon such usage, past or future, that you've found a sentence in which I'm simply applying a bare minimum of effort to the task.
2013 Buick Verano Turbo
Thu, 03 Jan 2013Not Luxury. Not Sport. Not Buick. Not Bad.
Those of you who still think of the Buick Verano as some sort of callously badge-engineered, gussied up version of the Chevrolet Cruze ("Why would anyone spend that much money on Buick's Cruze?" you may have been heard to mutter) have got the wrong idea. Entirely. Even in its most modest form, the Verano turns out to be a sedan that is feature-rich, insulated from wind and road noise in proper luxury car fashion, pretty good to drive and not bad to look at in the new school of high-nosed pedestrian-impact-regulated fashion. In a less modest form then, one that attaches the word "Turbo" to the moniker and plops a force-fed 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood, the Verano is downright interesting.
Of course, "interesting" is rarely a descriptor that fills one with lust - and so it goes with this example. There are two competing forces within this near-premium subcompact sedan, and the balance struck between them must resonate with any potential customer before the Verano Turbo can become a serious purchase consideration.
Next Buick Regal coming in 2017, could be imported from Germany
Sun, 03 Aug 2014The Buick Regal is based on the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, a pair of sedans from General Motors' European and British outfits. In fact, over 46,000 Regals from model years 2010 and 2011 were screwed together on the same lines as the Insignia twins, before GM's Oshawa, Ontario factory took over production fully. Considering this closeness, rumors that claim the next-generation Regal - due for 2017 - could move back to Europe aren't terribly surprising. Here's why, according to Automotive News.
Oshawa is home to three other vehicles, aside from the Regal - the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala rental queen and the Cadillac XTS. We already know next-gen Camaro production is headed to Lansing, MI, and that the fleet-only Impala will (finally!) die in 2016. As for the XTS, as AN explains it, sales are so slow that GM will either kill it or just shuffle its production volume elsewhere.
Taken along with the fact that Unifor, the Canadian labor union repping workers at the Oshawa factory, claim GM hasn't made any guarantees about future production at the nearly 60-year-old factory, it seems fairly clear that the Regal's current factory is going to be put out to pasture.
