1984 Buick Riviera Convertible Turbo Charged 3.8l on 2040-cars

US $12,500.00
Year:1984 Mileage:47472
Location:

Up for sale is a 1984 Buick Riviera Turbo Convertible with 47,472 original miles.  Back in 1984 this car was introduced as "bliss on wheels", with many options including power seats, windows, mirrors, and locks, dual airbags, original alloy wheels and of course the added class with the convertible top.  Also known as the grand tourer sports car, she gets up and goes with her rare turbo charged 3.8L V6 motor.  The body overall is in excellent condition with less than normal wear and tear for it's age.  The chrome bumpers and trim also have slight wear but could easily be buffed out with the right compound.  The paint appears to be original factory paint.  Interior is also in outstanding condition with only minimal wear. The seats are in good condition, the carpet is very clean. The door panels are in great shape and the dashboard doesn't have any cracks. NON SMOKER CAR. The convertible top works up and down and is full powered by a switch.  This car truly is one of a kind with it's low miles and motor.  It is a great daily driver.  They are far and few between.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions and I will be happy to answer them.  This car is sure to please with no disappointments. Please look at pics and verify all details for yourself as I am not the owner just a friend helping out a friend. I am in the automotive business and the car is a great car. Inspectors and visits welcome. Again verify all on your own as you bid with confidence on this rare find.

Buick struggling to keep up with Encore demand

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

Buick is having a hard time keeping up with demand for its all-new Encore mini-CUV, according to a report from Automotive News. The stylish, lifted five-door went on sale in January, but dealers have reported that supplies have dwindled after the initial high demand, taking the proverbial "wind out of the sails."
General Motors admits that it underestimated demand for the diminutive Buick, which is built in Korea and sold as the Opel Mokka in Europe, where it's also seen success. Buick spokesperson Nick Richards told AN, "We increased production, so there have been a lot more landing within the last month."
Buick has done a booming business, though, even with its limited supply of Encores. With over 12,000 units sold in the first half of 2013, the small CUV is on pace to annihilate industry analysts' estimates, which predicted no more than 18,500 units in 2013. We're not entirely surprised. When we first drove the Encore late last year, Autoblog professed that we had no idea how sales would turn out, as the Encore wasn't really entering into an established segment. Even so, wefound a surprising amount to like in the Encore, enough that we "wouldn't bet against it" being a major success.

Buick Verano to go turbo-only for 2014?

Sat, 22 Dec 2012

If VIN tags recently posted online prove accurate, the 2014 Buick Verano may be getting a new base engine. Presently the Verano makes use of GM's 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine in non-turbo trim; 2014 documentation appears to indicate that GM's entry-level luxury compact will instead feature a 1.6-liter turbocharged mill.
If this is the same engine seen in Europe, GM Inside News suggests it may offer 192 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque - useful improvements over the larger naturally aspirated mill's 180 hp and 171 lb-ft. More importantly, the downsized engine would likely improve on the Verano's current fuel mileage estimates of 21 city and 31 highway.
We like the Verano in both of its current iterations, but the 1.6 turbo engine sounds like a worthwhile upgrade if this reports turns out to be true. Plus, if more performance is your bag, baby, there's always the Verano's optional 2.0 turbo engine with an impressive 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft from just 2.0 liters of displacement.

OnStar RemoteLink mobile app coming standard on all new GM vehicles

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

As an evolution and improvement of its OnStar technology, General Motors has announced that it will be expanding the RemoteLink Mobile App on most 2014 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new, aptly named RemoteLink Key Fob Services will allow users to remotely operate all of the same systems as the car's key fob, including locking and unlocking the doors and remote starting (on vehicles equipped with a factory remote starter) using a smartphone.
These Key Fob Services will be free for five years - starting from the vehicle's delivery date - but the full suite of RemoteLink features will continue to be offered only with a subscription (trial or paid). These premium features include contacting a live adviser, getting turn-by-turn directions and remotely monitoring the vehicle's diagnostic systems.
