1965 BUICK RIVIERA  ***NO RESERVE! HIGH BID BUYS THIS BEAUTIFUL CAR!***

This is a very nice, turn key car. Purchased from the original owners nephew in 1997. Stripped to bare metal & repainted in 2002. The paint work is very nice & still shines very well. The color is absolutely stunning!

Electronic ignition, heads redone, mild cam & trans rebuilt with a mild shift kit in 2010. Newer water pump, master cylinder & battery. It runs strong! When sitting for a while it will leave a couple of spots on the ground from the power steering pump & oil pan. Newer flow master style muffler sounds great! The Odometer shows just under 31,000 miles. Less than 3,000 have been put on it since '97. I know prior to that the car had been stored in a garage for many years. So it may be correct. But I'm not sure.

The body is straight & solid. All of the chrome & stainless moldings are original & in very good condition. Floor boards & frame are solid.

New rear springs & shocks were installed last September.

The interior is in nice original condition. The seats are in very good condition. Dash, door & rear side panels also are very nice. Carpet is getting dull & has a small tear on the driver side front by the kick panel.

All 4 power windows work. The power seat motor works, but sticks on the right track. Maybe one of the cables needs to be replaced or the track greased & realigned. It's far enough back so it wasn't an issue for me & I never looked into it. The power antenna & original am/fm radio work. The tuner & volume give a little static when changing stations or adjusting volume.

The clam shell headlamp motor has been removed & needs to be rebuilt. The clam shells open and close manually very easily.

This is a great car! I truly hate to sell it. But I have too many cars & need the space. So I've listed it with No Reserve at an extremely fair starting price.

Please ask all questions & have all funds available before bidding.

I'm happy to answer any questions, assist with shipping & or inspections. Serious buyers only please!

If you are local & would like to see the car in person. Feel free to send me your # so we can set up a day & time.

Don't want to wait for the auction to end? I will consider Buy it Now offers to end it early.

This car is for sale locally. So the auction could end early if sold.

Thank you for viewing my listing.

2014 Buick Regal GS

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

A few months ago I drove the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and wrote up a First Drive review of it. For all of my quibbles with that sedan (and I had a fair number), I understand that it speaks to the heart of what new Buick loyalists like in a car; it's roomy, has a cushy ride and is as placid as a summer's morning at highway speeds.
Those qualities, while undeniably desirable, don't mean a whole lot to me personally. I prefer sedans that conjure up words like "nimble," "punchy" or even "raucous" on occasion. So, directionally, the high-performance GS version of the 2014 Buick Regal is more my cup of tea than any other car in the company's current range.
In fact, I'd already come to know the Regal GS from its 2012 model year introduction, and grown more than a little fond of the sporting sedan in its original front-wheel-drive, six-speed-manual guise. The fast, sweet-handling car with well-sorted controls may have suffered from a slight identity crisis in terms of pricing (and may still), but it was undeniably fun to drive. So, when I heard that the GS was coming to market for 2014 with optional all-wheel drive (albeit only in combination with a six-speed automatic transmission), I was stoked to have another go and concentrated my driving impressions on the AWD car.

Next Buick Regal coming in 2017, could be imported from Germany

Sun, 03 Aug 2014

The Buick Regal is based on the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, a pair of sedans from General Motors' European and British outfits. In fact, over 46,000 Regals from model years 2010 and 2011 were screwed together on the same lines as the Insignia twins, before GM's Oshawa, Ontario factory took over production fully. Considering this closeness, rumors that claim the next-generation Regal - due for 2017 - could move back to Europe aren't terribly surprising. Here's why, according to Automotive News.
Oshawa is home to three other vehicles, aside from the Regal - the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala rental queen and the Cadillac XTS. We already know next-gen Camaro production is headed to Lansing, MI, and that the fleet-only Impala will (finally!) die in 2016. As for the XTS, as AN explains it, sales are so slow that GM will either kill it or just shuffle its production volume elsewhere.
Taken along with the fact that Unifor, the Canadian labor union repping workers at the Oshawa factory, claim GM hasn't made any guarantees about future production at the nearly 60-year-old factory, it seems fairly clear that the Regal's current factory is going to be put out to pasture.

First 2013 Buick Encore TV ad features... dinosaurs

Thu, 14 Mar 2013

The whole "SUVs as dinosaurs" trope has become something of a threadbare cliché among auto writers, but that doesn't mean the wider world of consumers has caught on to the Jurassic nature of our line of thinking. That's what General Motors appears to be betting on, at least. Just check out Buick's first television spot for its 2013 Encore, the tiny crossover that is pushing the Tri-Shield into territories unknown while looking to outrun the brand's reputation as a refuge for elderly clientele.
Set to air this weekend on ESPN during the NCAA college basketball tournament, the ad plays up the Encore's maneuverability and surprising interior space by setting the baby Buick amongst a herd of lumbering CG dinosaurs created by Tippett Studio, the folks behind Hollywood blockbusters like Jurassic Park, Ted, and the Twilight series of films.
We can't help but snigger a little - while the Encore is indeed surprisingly roomy, nimble, and composed, our first drive found it to be glacially slow, too... not unlike a certain prehistoric race of animals. Check out the commercial below and judge for yourself.
