1963 Buick Riviera, Black, white, Int. 401 Nailhead Cold Ac ,veryclean, must See! on 2040-cars
Apopka, Florida, United States
You are viewing a 1963 Buick Riviera. This was the first year of production. I purchased this car from a family that has owned it for 22 years. Not been offered for sale before. This car been garage kept its whole life. The overall condition reflects that. Stunning Black with White interior. This is an unrestored very original car. I wanted so bad to do this and that, paint engine etc. I just could not do it. They are only original once! Paint on the car has been on for at least 22 years as family I know never painted it. The lacquer paint still shows well but is checking on the top surface. All trim is in amazing condition. Bumpers are showing some wear but still look good. Interior looks AMAZING!!! Small crack on top of dash on passenger side. Even has original floor mats! Everything works as it should. Original radio still works! Engine is very clean. Engine is original Buick Nailhead 401, 325 Horse. Runs like NEW!!! Motor appears to be all original with the exception of a Holley carburetor. Air Condition blows ice cold! The undercarriage is the cleanest I have ever seen on a 51 year old car. No rust anywhere!! Frame is bone dry. Floor pans are just unbelievably clean as is trunk pan. Body is rust free as well. One small spot in middle of windshield frame, very easy fix. This car runs and drives like new! This is a perfect car to just drive or lower and customize.I have many receipts, shop manuals, original books and owners manuals. These Riviera’s are becoming very desirable in the collector car market. Please feel free to email or call me on this car. I will be glad to discuss car with you. Wed, 24 Jul 2013A Nice, New Buick Aims For Middle Of The Road
Any time someone describes some portion of a car or a driving experience as being "nice," I want to either A) throttle them or B) run as fast and as far as I can from that vehicle. "Nice" is among the most insidious words in the English language - at best it's vague, and at worst, it conveys the exact opposite of its literal meaning. Yet it seems to be used with damnable frequency when it comes to verbally illustrating vehicles. "It looks really nice," or "These seats feel nice," or, heaven forefend, "It's got a nice ride," are all windy signifiers of absolutely nothing resembling a concrete opinion. "Nice" is the adjectival equivalent of meekly smiling and nodding your head.
Of course, I'm as guilty as the next person of having thrown English's least powerful descriptor around. There's even a chance that, rant aside, you'll catch me making nice in reviews to come. That's fine, but you should know that when you stumble upon such usage, past or future, that you've found a sentence in which I'm simply applying a bare minimum of effort to the task.
J.D. Power: Mini, Lexus again offer most satisfying sales experience
Thu, 29 Nov 2012JD Power has released its annual Sales Satisfaction Index Study, and once again Mini and Lexus have taken top honors. Overall, buyers are more satisfied with the auto-buying sales experience than they were last year, with those surveyed reporting an average score of 664 points on a 1,000-point scale. That's up from 648 in 2011. Dealer satisfaction also increased by five points over last year as well.
All told, Lexus brought home an index score of 737, which was high enough to put it atop the luxury brands for the second year in a row. JD Power says Infiniti came in second in that category with a score of 728 and Cadillac rounded out the podium with it's rating of 725. Speaking of Infiniti, that brand saw the single largest jump in sales satisfaction of any brand on the survey, popping up 52 index points over 2011.
Among mass-market brands, Mini ranked highest with a score of 712, followed closely by Buick with 706 and GMC farther down the line with 683. You can check out the full press release below for more information.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
