1987 Buick Turbo T. Rare and desireable white with factory blackout package, no chrome. Burgandy interior, hard top spoiler delete. Excellent condition inside and out, a very picky 9 out of 10 Buick. Car show quality. Very tastefull build with all parts being matched and installed cleanly and professionally. 55,844 well cared for and fair weather miles. Stored in a climate controlled garage. Laser straight rust free car with perfect fitment and body lines. Aftermarket front and rear fiberglass bumpers and bumper fillers, no stress cracks in them or at the window corners. Factory trim, molding and glass like new. All factory power options work great, AC is ice cold. The ride and drive is tight, smooth and rattle free. The car is dialed in perfect, very reliable power with great street manners running 24lb's of boost on 110-112 fuel, can also be driven on pump gas. Making a conservative 600 at the tire. You can drive this car to the track run a 10.00 off the footbrake and drive it home with the AC on. The car can idle all day and never get over 160. No leaks or bugs, countless time and money spent to get the car to this point, no corners cut. This is the caliber of Turbo Buick that everyone wants but can never find for sale so don't miss your chance to own it. The demand for these cars are growing so get in the club while you can. Going fast with class. Clean clear title in hand with no liens or wrecks. I will list some major mods below. Buick dusting off Grand National, GNX and T-Type nameplates

Mon, 26 Nov 2012

Inside Line reports Buick is planning to bring back some of the more storied names from the company's past, including the Grand National, GNX and the T-Type. Those cars rose to prominence in the 1970s and '80s to become performance legends of their day.
The new models will reportedly make use of the rear-wheel drive platform that currently underpins the Cadillac ATS and all would arrive as sedans - according to an unnamed source familiar with the initiative. Odds are the T-Type and the Grand National would share a driveline, with honest money being on a new twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 as the engine of choice. Word has it the mill will be good for anywhere from 350 to 400 horsepower.
That leaves only the GNX. Inside Line seems to think that machine could get down the road with some help from the all-new GM LT1 small-block V8. The engineers behind the ATS platform have already told us the engine bay is large enough for to accommodate the big eight pot, and since GM is most certainly working on an ATS-V, a slightly less powerful, less luxurious Buick iteration makes some kind of sense. We can't wait to see these things in the light of day.

Hyundai, Buick dealer apologize in wake of Chinese baby social media incident

Sat, 09 Mar 2013

A very strange story out of China today, as Hyundai and a Chinese Buick dealer were forced to face allegations of using allusions to an infamous child murder on a social media site as a way of promoting the safety features of their respective vehicles.
The original sad tale goes something like this: On March 4, a man reported to police that he had left his infant child in a running Toyota RAV4 while he ran into a supermarket briefly. When he came back out, the vehicle and the child were gone. Later in the week a suspect turned himself in to the police; confessing to them that he had stolen a sport-utility vehicle, strangled the infant that was in it, and then buried the child in the snow.
As you might imagine, the gristly incident was covered massively in the Chinese media. (There was huge public outcry as well, as evidenced by the vigil scene, above.) "Changchun baby abduction" was very quickly amongst the highest ranking search teams of the China's Weibo social media site - an equivalent of Twitter in the English-speaking world.

Buick Encore takes a hit of Mokka to tackle Dakar

Wed, 03 Sep 2014

There are many vehicles we'd consider taking racing. Even on a cross-country rally as punishing as the Dakar. But a Buick Encore? That's not one that would enter our motorsports-based consciousness. Yet it's basically what General Motors is entering in the South American rally raid this year, and you're looking at it.
Unveiled at the Moscow Motor Show, this rally machine is based on (or at least billed as) an Opel Mokka - the name that GM's European brand applies to the vehicle Americans know as the Encore, Buick's subcompact crossover. Only it's obviously been extensively modified. It's got a ten-inch raised suspension, a 137-gallon fuel tank, carbon-fiber bodywork and... hold on, we're sure we're missing something here. Oh, right: a 6.2-liter V8 kicking out 340 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox.
In other words, this is not the same Encore (or Mokka) you can pick up at your local Buick, Opel or Vauxhall dealership. It's not even close. It's not even recognizable as such, really. It was unveiled alongside a more sedate Opel Mokka Moscow Edition and a slew of other local debuts for the Opel brand that you can read more about in the (translated and original) Russian press release below.
