I have a rare 1990 Buick Reatta Convertible for sale. This is one of around 2400 Reatta convertibles ever built. It has roughly 103,200 miles. The paint and interior is original. There is no body damage. It was originally a northern car, so there was some surface rust in spots (no frame rust), but I have repaired and treated it all. It has a factory CD player that works great! It runs and drives great, and does not use any fluids. This car has every power option Buick offered. PW, PS, ABS, Keyless Entry, Anti-Theft, among many options. Everything works wonderfully, including the power antenna! This Reatta has never seen rain during my ownership, and is stored properly during bad weather.

There are many new parts on the car, such as: a new instrument panel; new A/C conversion to r-134a with new condenser, dryer, and clutch; newer transmission (has GM rebuilt sticker on bell housing); new tan cloth convertible top with correct black headliner and double stitched rear glass window with defog; new radiator; new catalytic converter; new dealer-installed speakers all around; new headlight motor repairs; new headlights; new battery; new alternator; new electrical grounds; all new front brake rotors, calipers, pads, and hydraulic accumulator; recent wire splice repair; among many others. All work has been done during the recent years of its life.

You will not be disappointed in its condition. It needs next to nothing to be a pristine show car. I am only selling due to having too many projects and responsibilities. Do not send any spam; I will report it. I don't need help selling the car.

Please note that there is NO WARRANTY on this car, either written or implied. I have described the car to the best of my ability, so what you see is what you get. It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange for shipping, and any and all title fees, doc fees, tag fees, etc. The car will be sold AS-IS.

Payment should be in cash or check, and should be received seven days after the auction has ended. This car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction early. Mileage will vary slightly because I drive it around every now and then to keep things in working order.

I have many more pictures for those who are interested. Send me an email and I will send you as many pictures as you would like. Give me a call at 828-777-5010 for more information.

Thanks for looking, and good luck!

Tue, 20 May 2014

General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
1,339,355 - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia models from the 2009 to 2014 model years; Saturn Outlook models from the 2009 to 2010 model years

Watch this phantom Buick drive itself down the highway in a snow storm

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

Years ago, General Motors used Buick cars to test out the idea of a "smart highway" concept. More recently, GM has been talking up its award-winning Super Cruise semi-autonomous technology that will roll out with Cadillac and make its way to Buick. The LeSabre in the video above has nothing to do with any of that.
On Interstate 15 in Utah, a man driving this LeSabre got into an accident that rearranged the front end and set the horn on permanent blare. At the time of writing this, no one is sure what happened next, but the man ended up sitting in the snow in the highway median while his car carried on down the highway without him. Passing traffic stayed well to the right.
The 51-second video below provides a different take on our autonomous future. A local newscast on KUTV covered the story the evening of the incident, but the Utah Highway Patrol didn't have any update on the fate of the LeSabre. We'll take that to mean that Buick's take on Christine could still be out on the prowl... so watch out!

First 2013 Buick Encore TV ad features... dinosaurs

Thu, 14 Mar 2013

The whole "SUVs as dinosaurs" trope has become something of a threadbare cliché among auto writers, but that doesn't mean the wider world of consumers has caught on to the Jurassic nature of our line of thinking. That's what General Motors appears to be betting on, at least. Just check out Buick's first television spot for its 2013 Encore, the tiny crossover that is pushing the Tri-Shield into territories unknown while looking to outrun the brand's reputation as a refuge for elderly clientele.
Set to air this weekend on ESPN during the NCAA college basketball tournament, the ad plays up the Encore's maneuverability and surprising interior space by setting the baby Buick amongst a herd of lumbering CG dinosaurs created by Tippett Studio, the folks behind Hollywood blockbusters like Jurassic Park, Ted, and the Twilight series of films.
We can't help but snigger a little - while the Encore is indeed surprisingly roomy, nimble, and composed, our first drive found it to be glacially slow, too... not unlike a certain prehistoric race of animals. Check out the commercial below and judge for yourself.
