GNX # 364

If you ve' ever seriously lusted after one consider this very cherry GNX with only 1116 miles.

This particular GNX is 100% stock.

 # 364 out 547 made one year of production.

The car to have in your collection from the 80's.

Buck advertised the GNX model as the fastest accelerating production car at the time of its release

Car and Driver quote from the May of 87 issue  " In a world of sleek shapes and refined manners, the GNX is a ax wielding barbarian laying waste to everything in its path."

0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds. Making it both a tire shredder and a giant killer.

Rated at a modest 276 HP360ft/lbs of torque. When Tested it was about 300plus HP

The great no no of GM making the GNX the one car that beat the Corvette, and that's why it was a limited one year run. Making this car so special to have and collect.

These cars where build by Buick and ASC McLaren a  $10,000 GNX option on top of the $29,290 sticker price of the Grand National.

Many changes where make to accommodate the power increase for this Barbarian. A special Garrett "Hybrid" T-s Turbocharger that uses a very lightweight ceramic impeller. A special 200 R4 Hydromantic Transmission, a special deferential ,rear axle pan hard bar, and torque resisting ladder bars.

body mods included  bigger fender flairs, fender vents, more body reinforcement bars,16 inch wheels,

Special Steward analog gauge package

If you are serious about collecting fine autos do not miss this gem the best of its time, the one from the 80's. Thank you for checking out this GNX and Happy Bidding : )

Buick dusting off Grand National, GNX and T-Type nameplates

Mon, 26 Nov 2012

Inside Line reports Buick is planning to bring back some of the more storied names from the company's past, including the Grand National, GNX and the T-Type. Those cars rose to prominence in the 1970s and '80s to become performance legends of their day.
The new models will reportedly make use of the rear-wheel drive platform that currently underpins the Cadillac ATS and all would arrive as sedans - according to an unnamed source familiar with the initiative. Odds are the T-Type and the Grand National would share a driveline, with honest money being on a new twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 as the engine of choice. Word has it the mill will be good for anywhere from 350 to 400 horsepower.
That leaves only the GNX. Inside Line seems to think that machine could get down the road with some help from the all-new GM LT1 small-block V8. The engineers behind the ATS platform have already told us the engine bay is large enough for to accommodate the big eight pot, and since GM is most certainly working on an ATS-V, a slightly less powerful, less luxurious Buick iteration makes some kind of sense. We can't wait to see these things in the light of day.

Opel readying Adam model with SUV cues

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

The Opel Adam, the microcar of General Motors' European subsidiary, has seen its sales cool significantly since it first hit the market in the United Kingdom and Europe, but a push is reportedly under way that just might be enough to get the stylish, little car moving again.
Using the Opel Adam Rocks Concept as a template, Opel will ruggedize the Adam, so that it might compete with the growing herd of city cars that sport SUV styling, like the Volkswagen Cross Up and Fiat Panda 4x4, according to a report from Automotive News Europe. Sporting a bumped-up ride height and tougher body work, it's a dedicated soft-roader, but will freshen the Adam's lineup and, hopefully, broaden its customer appeal.
The Adam Rocks, according to IHS Automotive analyst Ian Fletcher, should also make some more coin for GM's struggling European arm. "Automakers are happy to meet demand for SUV and crossovers as the customer pays a premium," Fletcher told ANE. And although the Rocks might have been planned from the start as a production vehicle, the timing, with the Adam's sales slowdown, doesn't seem like a coincidence.

How to hack a Buick Regal with CarKnow

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

If you own an Apple iPhone or Android device, perhaps you've been tempted to jailbreak or root it. This process gives you access to the the software's code, and can be used to make minor or drastic changes to its operating system. CarKnow, a company in Boston, is working applying a similar concept to the automobile.
Translogic recently took a look inside CarKnow to see just how it can tweak the computers inside a car and what sort of things can be done. As our transportation tech sister site explains, CarKnow basically created a digital duplicate of their Buick Regal in the cloud, while harvesting data generated to create custom apps and infiltrate the deepest function of their test car.
And before you freak out about people maliciously taking over your car, CarKnow's founder, Josh Siegel, stresses that it isn't quite so easy as driving up alongside someone. Take a look at the full video below to see just what it's like to jailbreak a car.
